Hey, the less you guys go to Aldi the better for me. Cooking the family a delicious beef stew tonight that cost probably $10 total to make. I can barely even find a package of stew meat for less than $10 at a regular grocery store.

NP but fine by me. I personally don’t want to be eating a giant pot of homemade beef stew that cost less than $10 dollars. I’m also very happy to pay more than $1.99 or whatever you’re paying for “regular” eggs.

I agree that the stores are not all that nice and don't have a huge variety. But I haven't had any problems with quality. I like the fact that the stores are small-ish and so relatively quick.

There are quite a number of packaged items from Germany/Europe that are very good--chocolate, jams/jellies, Christmas treats.

I tried the cheese at Aldi and was super excited since it was so much less pricy, but it was not as good as what I got at giant. That comparison aside, it didn’t taste good enough for me to get again anyway. Specifically Irish Cheddar.

I found their small individual sized hummus packages were great.

I haven’t tried more than that yet.

The food I can tolerate from Aldis is their coffee, breakfast bars, chips, nuts, crackers, guacamole, other dips. Basically, all their snack foods and coffee. Eggs, milk, butter fine too. Cheeses not good. It's a great place to buy a ton of snacks cheap.

I also find their food spoiles very fast. Much faster than main stream stores. Why?

That’s actually a good sign. European food spoils a lot quicker because they don’t use so many preservatives.
