Sorry, I exaggerated. It was $2.59. |
Which one do you go to? I’ve been to Rockville and Silver Spring and neither impressed me. |
I also find their food spoiles very fast. Much faster than main stream stores. Why? |
Fewer preservatives, perhaps? That’s a good thing, you know. |
Yes, in theory but berries spoiling/ molding two days later seems too quick. My giant organic berries don’t do that. It happens with more than just berries too. I think it defeats the purpose of buying less expensive groceries when it gets trashed quickly. |
I’m guessing they are selling overstock. |
| My Aldi out here in Northwestern VA is great. I’ve never had any problems with their meat, dairy, produce, most dry groceries, etc. I can count on one hand the times I’ve been unsatisfied with Aldi products. I make the drive to our closest Wegmans once every few months for some of their unique specialties, but Aldi is my weekly grocery store. However, like earlier posters mentioned, junk food is junk food, no matter where you shop. |
I tried both and always left empty-handed. On the other side, I love Trader Joes. |
| Same as Trader Joe’s. They just spend more on decor and labeling |
See, I wouldn’t buy meat from Giant either. |
Lidl is worth taking a trip for their bakery alone. I go to Lidl instead of Aldi now, it's much bigger and more selection. Their meat department is really good and I can always find things like ground lamb that isn't always available at other stores. |
| OP I've been to Aldi here and in the UK. The Aldi in the UK had higher quality food. |
Trader Joe’s are also very specific as to freshness. Mine has great produce but the bakery items spoil too fast. |
| I think the vast majority of food at American Aldi is made for the American market. |
What makes an apple “higher quality”? |
