You actually think there are designer eggs? Really? You are implying there is something wrong with the eggs at the discount stores? You are not intelligent. |
| I just tried Lidl and liked it much better than Aldi. Too bad it's a little farther away from me... I also like HMart! |
I used to go to ALDI but now I'm all about LIDL. Love the baked good. The one near me is large so that there's none of that crowded feel you get in ALDI or Trader Joe's. And while the stock changes frequently it's often very high quality. |
| Aldi cheese is plastic. It tastes like nothing. |
I don’t want sad eggs from unhappy cluck clucks. |
Are you buying the cheapest Happy Farms or whatever? Because I just had a wedge of crumbly aged Irish cheddar that was delicious. Look for the “Select” stuff. The goat cheese is also perfectly good. |
I do my shopping at the Georgia Ave Aldi and I think it’s nice enough. |
Years ago it was cash only and closed on Sunday. |
A lot of American cheese tastes like plastic too. |
I like Lidl too. The produce in our local Safeway is expensive and the quality is not great. I can get nearly everything I need from Lidl, with occasional trips to H Mart. The better quality Lidl cheese are about half the price of Safeway, and some of their baked goods are good. I can get the same brand of brioche buns for $2.50 at Lidl, whereas the exact same thing costs me $5 at Safeway. The shoppers and staff at Lidl are nicer too. |
We had a cheddar cranberry thing at Thanksgiving and everyone loved it. |
My son worked at a produce distribution warehouse this past summer. They would receive produce in and then package it for different stores. The same produce that came in would be placed in different packaging for different store. So that great produce you bought at Trader Joes is the exact same produce you will get at Aldi and Giant. |
The goat cheese is like 1/3 of the price as at Giant! They have some really interesting cheeses a lot of the time. |
Yeah, my Aldi has the exact same name brand produce (Dole, Chiquita, etc) you’d get anywhere else. The other week I got pineapples for 89 cents each. |
+1. Trader Joe's became famous for this -- selling the same crackers as you'd get in the grocery story under a different label for half the price. |
