Seth Rogen slammed for "priveleged" tweet dismissing a man whose care was broken into

It’s not “getting robbed.” Getting robbed is having things taken from the person by force or intimidation. His car is being burglarized. Big difference.

I’m sure he’s exaggerating about the number of times it’s happened to him. But I will say this: having your car burglarized when you have items of value visible within it is, in fact, “life in the big city.”

You think people who don't have children don't have anything to do all day? He has a business he created. And he does ceramics. If YOU had worked for a couple of decades and were able to retire from your career and follow your hobbies, wouldn't you?

He is unfulfilled, he has no purpose, no heirs, he doesn’t care about anyone or anything. He’s CLEARLY very unhappy and miserable.

Sure, I’d retire...to spend more time with my children and grandchildren. Not to smoke dope all day and be some crank on twitter.

And you are so fulfilled and have such purpose that you have time to attack and judge a celebrity who you don’t even know on an anonymous forum?!! Look in the mirror.

And one more thing: that the LAPD was able to - or even cared about - recovering the stolen items and arresting the culprits right away speaks volumes about Casey’s own privilege and obliviousness to it. I’m sure the good citizens of LA are grateful that the LAPD had to divert precious resources towards recovering a 7 year olds birthday gifts because rich and clueless parents were stupid enough to leave them visible in a car.

Honestly, Seth R's comments are very similar to how DCUM would react. I don't think he was being a prick. I also think it's common for people on the left to shrug off property crimes and common for people on the right to view it as a serious issue, so I see this as political posturing, not "insensitivity." And I say this as a person on the right.

I’m on the left and don’t “shrug off” property crimes. I just think we all need to do our part to make policing easier, and that includes not tempting criminals by leaving items of value visible in your car.

The dudes washed up and happy for any attention. If he had a thriving career and happy life, he wouldn’t be engaging with us plebs online.
Hes had a girlfriend the entire time he’s been famous and have never heard one cheating casual sex story on Rogan so do you normally spread rumors about people on the internet, even if you don’t know them?

Never said anything about him cheating, not sure where you’re getting that from.

He is a producer of:

Superbad - about teenage boys getting teenage girls drunk so they can lose their virginity

Sausage Party - ‘nuff said

Pineapple Express - about scoring weed

Blockers - about teenage girls losing their virginity

Knocked Up - creepy, gross dude doesn’t understand condoms and gets a woman pregnant on a one night stand

40 Year Old Virgin - about a 40 year old trying to lose his virginity.

His movies. Are. Gross. And so is he.

No one wants to see juvenile movies about penises and losing virginity anymore. His career is over, he’s probably losing his mind over it, and is so desperate for any kind of attention that he goes nuts online. He’s always been mentally unwell and now it’s coming out in full force.

You seem pretty desperate, bitter, mentally unwell and like the stick up your as* is the only thing keeping you standing and speaking.

That should probably come as a red flag to many on here, lol. But then again, many DCUMers seem to seriously lack self awareness.

I'm a person on the left and I don't shrug off property crimes. They should be taken seriously and punished, but it's also crazy to take a single property crime and use it as an excuse to sling insults at an entire city. I wouldn't single out a random recent property crime victim though. They both seem like they could stand to spend less time on social media.

The reason I think this is that when businesses were burned down last summer, the reaction from the left was, well, insurance will cover it, no problem here. And the decriminalization of theft in California also seems to be a move toward treating property crime as a minor infraction. I'm not saying that this is evil or wrong, although I disagree. I'm just saying that Seth R's comment seems very on brand with "it's just stuff, who cares!" I don't think he's a bad person for saying it, it's a good perspective even if I don't think it is best for society. I'm really surprised at the reaction he's getting, considering it's a fairly mainstream view.

You sound like youre very unaware of whats going on in LA, lol. This was certainly not "one property crime". OMG some of you people are so out of it

A LOT of hate crimes have been happening all over California against asians for the past year plus.

I recently moved out of Cali and so glad I did. Sad what it's become.

So sorry for this man's loss and the loss to his family.
