J Lo's Face - What has she had done?

Anonymous
I think it’s hilarious people are saying this is because she is Latin. Have you all not seen the average Latin woman in this area? There are not many 50 year olds with the same background that look like j lo.

I’m no plastic surgery expert by any means but I do believe her when she says she hasn’t had any Botox/fillers- but also when celebs say that I think it doesn’t exclude a mini facelift. Either way, she has always had beautiful skin! I’m sure all the lasers and other non-injectable stuff on the regular helps keep her looking so young. She looks incredible!

I'm thinking it's not the genes, it's the $$$ that makes the difference. Who knew?

I'm a 40 yr old latina. Doctors are shocked when they know my age and see me. They believe I should be a college freshman. I work with Africans and poc who also believe me to be in my 20s. However I think jlo looks her age. She does not have the small thin body she did when she was dating puff daddy. After kids she became wider framed and has a harder face.

She eats well and exercises.

If she’s had Botox, I don’t think it’s in the eye area. She doesn’t have that squinty eye Botox look at all.

I think she just has good genes and takes good care of her skin. I am about 5 years younger and similarly have good skin genes -- women in my family just have really youthful looking skin until about 60 when you start to see it. It's not weight related for us, either. It's just how we age. Anyway, this is about how my skin looks now in my late 40s. Some fine lines and crepiness around the eyes, but basically nothing else except when I smile, and then it's just deeper laugh lines than I used to have. I don't have lines on my forehead or between my eyes. No neck wrinkles. And I've had no work done.

I do think she must be ahead of the game in terms of skin care. Like I said, I'm 5 years younger. I am good about retinol (I use an alternative but it has the same impact) and really good about SPF and moisture. But she glows and has always glowed. I think some of that is just natural, she's lucky. But also she clearly takes exceptional care of her skin. She's wealthy and has access to the best of everything. She has no reason to go in for fillers or Botox and I'm glad she hasn't because when you are that naturally beautiful, it would be sad to destroy it just to get rid of a few laugh lines.

That's what she looks like without makeup?! In her 50s?!

Wow. She is even better looking than I previously thought.

If you think she's not wearing make up there, I've got a few bridges to sell you...

As an asian, what I find incredible is that her skin has very little sign of sun damage.
She doesn't look that dark w/o make up (meaning not so much melanin protection) and my guess is that she has not lead a lifestyle that religiously avoided the sun since childhood (absolutely no judgement on that, just assuming that was not her culture) so how does she end up with skin looking like that? Even with lasers, peels, botox plus your usual celebrity ($$$) skin care regimen, I really don't see how anyone can retain that kind of skin absent just really, really good genes.

Hello! I am a Cate Blanchett/Nicole Kidman white person. J.Lo has some melanin, which helps for sure, but I think you're right, not enough to discount genetics. I think the main thing for her is she has always said she stays entirely out of the sun and wears high SPF every.single.day. I don't think her "culture" was to stay out of the sun, but I think she did. I saw her circa 2001 at the Puerto Rican Day parade and she was absolutely running to get away from crowds and away from her people and was worried about skin exposure. She's always been very forthright about getting that bronze glow from fake tanners. She looks great and she has worked for it for 30+ years.

I have that skin and no, it's not good genes, my mom has horrible skin damage. I've been doing a combo of yearly IPL and BBL plus retin-a since I was in my late 20s. After my 2nd pregnancy, I started to get some melasma, so I can't do lasers anymore and switched to profhilo and chemical peels. Since my 30s I've been using heavy duty European sunscreen and sun hat. Summary: it's not genes, it's $$$.

Botox can be injected to lift the eye and make it look bigger.

I was guessing it was this, lasers and peels. I have stayed out of the sun since I was 13, I have used sunscreen religiously and never had a sunburn and I still have some spots (I’m guessing it’s because my diet goes from just fine to absolutely shite over the course of a few months!!). J-Lo has very obviously eaten a very healthy diet to stay in that shape.

For some reason, I never fault people for topical treatments. Peel whatever. Shoot off whatever. It doesn’t “count” to me as much.

Yes this. She has had plastic surgery plus I'll bet a mini/lower face lift. I think that is how she can not have and nasolabial folds at 50 without fillers. She had the mini lift.

She definitely had a lower facelift/neck lift and uses Ultherapy type lasers to keep that jawline razor sharp.

And she looks great- not overdone like many celebs. I think women like her do a great disservice to the rest of us by pretending that they have aged naturally. She’s clearly had work and it was very well done. She shouldn’t be ashamed of it and she also shouldn’t lead the rest of us to believe this is all natural.

Like PP said, she’s had a ton of plastic surgery since her In Living Color days. Are you really telling us you’d undergo such a transformation in your early career but not rely on dermatology/plastic surgery as you age? Right.

WOW - you are right! She looks like a different person! Her eyes and nose are totally different, and her double chin is gone.

Anyone who thinks J. Lo hasn't has a ton of work done is blind.

Without a doubt she has had MANY cosmetic procedures and surgeries. This is not genetics: it’s money and fame.
