J Lo's Face - What has she had done?

Yes this. She has had plastic surgery plus I'll bet a mini/lower face lift. I think that is how she can not have and nasolabial folds at 50 without fillers. She had the mini lift.

Sorry but no -- I have never had Botox or lasering and that's exactly what my face looks like. Exactly. I just have really good skin, and so does she.

I'm not even invested in this but I think it's funny that people are disbelieving that it is possible for people to look like this at 50. Of course it is! Haven't you ever met a genetically blessed person IRL? My mom used to get gasps when people found out she was in her 40s and 50s because her skin was so smooth and unlined. By 60 she started to look her age (she got jowls) but at JLos age she had similar skin. Not as well moisturized. And this was all before Botox or these other procedures were a thing. Back then, having work done meant surgery -- face lifts, nip and tuck. So people knew mom mom's skin was the real deal.

But now everyone is convinced that without Botox and fillers, all 50 year old women would look like chain smoking grandmas. Sorry to break this to you, but that's not true.

And the PP who said melanin is right. It's not impossible for light skinned women to look this good at this age, but it is less likely. Melanin absolutely helps. I bet J Lo's family is full of ladies with amazing skin who look 32 well into their 50s.

I am 51 and had a few people ask if I was my 16-year old son’s sister—not in a just being nice way-/like legit. At the hospital during Covid the women at the desk stopped us and said we needed our mom and couldn’t go through without an adult. I kinda laughed said thanks—and she was dead serious. I had to show my ID. My son still laughs about that.

I’m part Italian with olive skin. My dad and paternal grandmother had unbelievably smooth skin well into their late 70s. No sunspots or creepiness and very few wrinkles. Both my parents looked nothing like they’d age—not physically in the way they moved or in their looks. When they took my kids out people always thought they were the parents, not the grandparents.

My other half is Irish and that side of the family has a lot more wrinkles, jowls.

Presumably, you were wearing a mask!

Yes. But I still have only a few greys (that I cover at roots) so my hair is thick, dark and shiny. And I am very fit, youthful body. I was in a sleeveless dress, v neck wrap dress above the knee. So my neck, chest, skin, forehead, neck, eyes, knees were all showing. Only my mouth, nose was covered. I have olive smooth, skin and no cellulite.

She definitely had a lower facelift/neck lift and uses Ultherapy type lasers to keep that jawline razor sharp.

And she looks great- not overdone like many celebs. I think women like her do a great disservice to the rest of us by pretending that they have aged naturally. She’s clearly had work and it was very well done. She shouldn’t be ashamed of it and she also shouldn’t lead the rest of us to believe this is all natural.

Like PP said, she’s had a ton of plastic surgery since her In Living Color days. Are you really telling us you’d undergo such a transformation in your early career but not rely on dermatology/plastic surgery as you age? Right.

Oh she definitely looks great. She has good bone structure. You can’t get a jawline like that even with surgery if you don’t have that bone structure.

Chefs that prepare healthy food and smoothies. Ability to pay for staff to take care of her house, kids, day to day tasks.

Plus she works out with the best trainers, doesn’t drink, and gets good sleep.

Unless you have major $$$$$, most of this (minus the drinking and your lucky if you have good sleep) is out of reach for the rest of us. Just do what you can and don’t compare.

Oh sure - it's a fool's errand to compare yourself to J Lo at any age! But she looks much better than plenty of other celebrities at that age (and even younger). So even with all the money spent, there's something else that's got her looking like THIS and so many others not looking like this. Perhaps melanin and good genes are the answer - in any case, she looks fantastic!

I'm not unattractive, but I didn't even have that jawline in my teens or 20s. Not fat, very fit--but a round face. It's not just lifestyle--when you get past 50--your underlying bone structure is a big part of how you'll age. Look at Sharon Stone--those high cheekbones help. J-Lo's angular jawline helps. As you lose volume and fat slides---you need the bone structure to offset that.

Have you seen the recent photo circulating of Angelina Jolie with the jacked up extensions at a movie premiere? The stylist didn't blend them and it looks ridiculous.

JLo has a complete look her super tight bod matches the face. Keep in mind many Hollywood actresses have had work done on their bodies as well. JLO is not some 5' 10 Charlize Theron build she is 5'5 with legs that are from her ethnic background. You have to work to get the abs, legs and upper body she has

There were a few years where this was obvious. It appeared to be a facelift or some implants. Then it settled down and has been forgotten. Maybe a decade ago.

She doesn’t drink alcohol, uses a special serum that most celebrities use for face hydration. When you have the money you can pay to look flawless.

There are frozen forehead lines and a crease between her brows. There’s also evidence of jowels forming. She’s obviously had work. She takes great care of herself and looks amazing, but she’s had some help.

Also, you don’t start developing a sagging neck with creases but maintain a perfect line and wrinkle-free face.

You might. Most people moisturize and use sunscreen and skin treatments on their faces, starting in adolescence. Many don’t take similar care of the skin on their necks until they are much older and get hit with signs of aging.

African American woman who swears by Noxema, drinks lots of water and no alcohol, and is frequently assumed to be about 20 years younger than I actually am.

Noxema?
Are you cheap or poor?

She's also obviously had her nose done/thinned in addition to the previous procedures mentioned. She is a perfectionist and I am sure approaches her face and body in the same way.

I saw her up close years ago- ran into her & Mark Anthony. I will say she was incredibly beautiful and the thing I remember most is her skin- magnificent. I'm not surprised she still looks this good.

Olive oil and a good filter for the no makeup picture (her forehead “dimples” disappeared).
