Do you think the VA governor's race will have an impact on NoVA school board elections?

It doesn’t make any sense. I don’t get it.

Your willful ignorance isn’t going to dissuade people ready for a change from the Democrats’ mismanagement of local government and woke ideology from voting as they see fit.

What’s the middle, exactly? Overturning elections? Banning abortions with no exceptions? Discouraging people from getting vaccinated? Screaming at school boards about CRT? I see one party trying to help struggling people and another that’s gone off the deep end with fear-mongering and axe-grinding.

That sums it up perfectly.

"Those Democrats have gone off the deep end! I've had it with them. Let me see what that other party is up to.... Well, they appear to be gathering steam as a bunch of white nationalist anti-woman anti-middle class anti-environment anti-worker anti-safety pro 1% party, but they seem to hate the Democrats as much as I do now so I think I'll fit right in."

We had an unprecedented global pandemic. Did everything work perfectly? No. Did schools generally try to do their best given the circumstances? Yes.

I get that parents are frustrated but the solution isn’t voting for a Trump Republican.

Mock if you want, but that's what's happening. Many Democrats are fed up with the school boards. If Youngkin wins, he has the NOVA school boards to thank.

I will continue to mock but I'll also feel sorry for how stupid those people are.

Feel free to do so in both cases. You’re just making the case for change.

This is America the only change that's going to ever happen are bad things

Anyone who answers “yes” to this is willfully blind.

I’m waiting until Election Day to see if McAuliffe or Northam discusses the availability of kid vaccines and impact on mask mandate. My kids are miserable in them. (Though sure there teacher would say - they totally wear them w no complaints and sometimes they forget they still have them on at lunch!) They now know that their cousins in Europe and in Midwest and are not wearing masks and are so angry and done with them. I am too. And yes, I will vote on this single issue because Ds need a wake up call that they are absolutely out of synch on this issue.

Masks will be off next year - either spring if the numbers are looking good or the fall at the latest. Why elect a Trump Republican for FOUR YEARS over an issue that won’t even exist months after the new governor will be in office?

Because they're real mad now and haven't been taught skills on how to think long term

What specifically has gotten worse? No GOP lies/empty talking points.

That masking my kid is basically permanent despite Europeans clearly demonstrating that it's unnecessary, for starters. I personally am impacted by the fact that there is no one to hire due to the endless cash flowing from covid relief. I’m concerned this idiotic and endless spending is not just going to make a mess of the labor market (already done) but also create really scary levels of inflation beyond what we are seeing now. Unfortunately, the irresponsible extreme democrats are at the tiller, and putting a moderate Republican in charge of VA would send a very important message and be good for VA.

I respectfully disagree with you on the masks (I am a teacher and I will quit when unvaccinated kids are allowed to be unmasked in my classroom) but I heartily agree with the bolded.

Did you vote Biden for president last year? Asking because your explanation doesn't make much sense unless you're Republican-leaning already. Masking won't be permanent - our cases just need to come down, as Europe's have (thank our anti-vax Republican party for why our case rates are still too high!). Tight labor markets are what happens when the economy picks up steam and unemployment is low. Inflation is a valid concern, sure, but most of it is due to supply-chain problems beyond politicians' control. And Youngkin ain't a moderate. It's Trump's party now, and Youngkin would face significant pressure to follow the national party by banning vaccine mandates, outlawing abortion, cutting taxes for rich people, and certifying Virginia's 2024 electoral votes for Trump no matter what Virginia voters say.

Hhhmmm...is the economy actually picking up steam? And can we really write off inflation to supply-chain problems? I don't think your questions garner the answers you expect sitting in your tunnel. The endless money stream to unemployed people who refuse to adapt and who refuse to get off their butts and find jobs is so infuriating. The same with the child stimulus payments or whatever they're called. It is insane that my husband and I are receiving them. C'mon, people, the government is not your Sugar Daddy. I am pretty True Blue yet I find this constant feeding of the entitlement of people in their 20s and 30s really disgusting. Show some initiative for goodness sake. Stop complaining and start working. It is your life, take charge of it.
