My oldest was born in the year 2000.
Remember all the hype about our "millenium babies?" And how it was "a thing" to have the black/white/red baby toys? https://www.google.com/search?q=black+white+and+red+baby+toys&biw=1366&bih=662&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwjb6ovSq6nQAhUDxGMKHfSvD_cQsAQIJw And all the "Baby Mozart" videos? What else was a big thing back then that moms having their first in 2016 don't do/have? |
| Baby Einstein videos too! Blues Clues, The Wiggles. Our Y2K babies are driving! |
|
Baby Einstein
Exersaucers and door jumpers Blues Clues Maisy Mouse (the books and tv show) Strollers that attach the infant seat were pretty new then |
Who paid too much money to see The Wiggles in concert? (reluctantly raises hand)
|
| These kids were born after Y2K and before 9/11. One year of calm |
|
Yes, I saw The Wiggles in concert and it was before Greg left.
Barney was another big one. Is he still around? I also did the Baby Einstein videos, played classical music and had those red, white and black toys. |
Yes. And about 4 months later I was pregnant with DS2 and months later the snipers were terrorizing our area. |
| Remember Zany Brainy and the train table there? |
Miss that place! |
| My kids watched Barney's Christmas maybe 2000 times, maybe more. I still remember Mr. Boyd from Barney! |
And the year after the snipers, hurricane Isabel came through knocking out our power and water for days. |
| The movie "Elmo in Grouchland". |
| Remember Elmo before it was discovered his handler was a pedophile?? |
And Steve Erwin before he was killed by the sting ray
|
| This is a great thread. Elmo's World, The Wiggles, and Dora were big in our house. Then came Steve Irwin, the show with the Meerkats on Animal Planet, and Jon and Kate Plus 8. Ha |
