If your child is about 16 years old right now, come reminisce with me...

I'm a mom of a 1999er, but to me Toy Story and Harry Potter were the movies and franchises that defined my kids childhood. He slept with a Buzz Lightyear toy, and dressed as Buzz for Halloween. A few years later he was Harry Potter and building Harry Potter Legos.

I cried at the last of both movies, because Andy and Harry were suddenly so grown up!

I got a basket of free stuff at the hospital for having a millennium baby. Harlem globetrotters ticket, Ringling Barnum and Bailey circus ticket, millennium paraphernalia.

My oldest nephew is a 2k baby. I babysat A LOT!

Wiggles, Elmo's world (love), Baby Einstein, the first(?) kids to have a BILLION photos and scrapbooks! (I know photo albums and scrapbooks were happening before, just the HUGE hobby it became at that time).

I'm trying to describe the baby clothes at that time. There was something different about those years. Still quality for sure.

I'll try to think of more.

DD was 16 months on 9/11 and she knew something was wrong with us by the end of that week, she kept looking in our eyes.

When DD was about three, we sang the Lion King over and over and over. Miss those days.

Who paid too much money to see The Wiggles in concert? (reluctantly raises hand)

It was worth ever penny to see Anthony!

Little girl tights were more like pantyhose

Pottery barn kids was new

Pier One Kids

DD had a yellow bedroom with Carter's brand decor to include wallpaper border, lightswitch cover, bumper pads, crib skirt, diaper holder, sheets, bank...

Stacking Bath cup toys by Sassy didn't have a hole in the middle

Sassy brand was huge...ugly in retrospect style...checkerboard, stripes, polka dots, all primary colors, very Mary Engelbreit with funky edges and borders..jumbled look but was to develop focus?

Love this thread! My son turns 3 tomorrow and loves some of the things mentioned here - has grown out of Blues Clues but used to love it. Loves Elmo Adventures in Grouchland and Elmo's World and very recently has become OBSESSED with Toy Story.

Most of the shows we watch are on Prime or Netflix so we watch a mix of old and new.
