APS - NNAT2 scores

For the second graders who have been taking this the part couple of weeks, will their scores be sent home at some point? if so, when? TIA!
Anonymous
I was wondering the same thing?
Anonymous
They do get sent home. It takes while though if I remember correctly.

Does anyone have a sense if these are
sent out soon or more like after the holidays? thanks.

Why do you care so much? This is 2nd grade.

FWIW, it won't matter for GT selection. They didn't even take into consideration test scores (off the chart), in-class assessments, teacher recommendations and grades at our school.

Dredging up this old thread to ask -- should we look at this score as a relatively accurate reflection of our child's IQ? Our son just took this and is pretty much smack in the middle at 50%.

I know -- I KNOW -- we are overreacting to this, but my husband and I were both test acers when we were kids -- national merit finalists, great test scores, AP classes, tough challenging careers.

Our son is a great reader but not especially good at the other parts of school. So this test result is not a total surprise. Though still some part of me thinks, maybe it's wrong.

I know I sound stupid, but I still need to ask: do "average" kids go on to do well in school and find decent careers? The economy is so difficult now that if you can't live by your wits, it seems like you might be in tough straights. I'd actually be happy about "average" in some ways since maybe he would be happier than people like me who fret about dumb things like this, as long as he can make money and support himself.

There will always be a place for "average", hard-working, responsible people with a reasonable level of emotional intelligence. Don't fret about it!

My son tested 50% (percentile?) back in 2nd and has gone to to join G&T pull outs and be in the top reading and maths groups in late elementary. Not sure how that will translate long term, but I personally don't place a lot of value on the Naglieri.

The anxiety level is so high in this area. Do folks think America is circling the drain?

Right? What is this generation of kids going to look like being raised in such a neurotic, competitive environment? It's scares me a lot. My kids tends toward anxiety and perfectionism, and I am genuinely worried about how he'll fare (emotionally) growing up in this area. I am doing my best to keep myself in check, but it's tough to do when the norm is so skewed.

And my son scored top of NNATS, Cogats, 600 SOLS and has had straight As for the past 3 years and was not even tagged for GT or pull-outs. The test flagged him as requiring to be evaluated by the school for special/GT, but the school already fills those spots before 3rd grade .

Younger sibling is in 3rd grade reading and recognizing words at 8th grade level and they have not moved him into higher GT group or pull-outs.

IT MEANS ABSOLUTE SHIT IN APS. PERIOD.
