I don't think either of those boots would look good with a pencil skirt. You either want something with a higher block heel, a tall boot or just don't do it. |
Check Pinterest for ideas on how to style booties and pencil skirts. May give you a better idea for what works and why. |
Booties should have higher heels to work w pencil skirt |
This. Think sleek not chunky. |
Booties are never OK. Ever. |
Just not a good look. I googled this to see if people are actually doing this. All the images are crazy skinny women. Why? Because the pencil skirt is one giant horizontal stripe across your thighs and the booties are another horitonzal stripe along you ankles/feet. Makes you super short and choppy looking. Please avoid. |
I don't know what the PPs are talking about. I've been wearing slim booties for years with skirts, pencil or otherwise, and it always looks good. The key is to select quality leather, elegant-looking booties, not chunky, casual, ones. Unless you're a little more into fashion than most in this provincial DC town... |
How about something like this, OP: http://m.zappos.com/eric-michael-cali-black
You need something with a higher heel that that dips down in the front of your ankles. It will give you a longer leg line. |
How about tall boots? Anyone have suggestions on what would look good and be comfortable (besides pumps and ballet flats) with a pencil skirt? |
those are pretty... |
All the examples in this thread are ugly. Most booties look ugly. I'm not going to wear ugly shit to try to fit into what's in fashion. They don't look good. |
