pencil skirt with booties

Oy with the anti-bootie crowds here. It's not like you said you wanted to wear CAPRIS.

In any case, from what you've shown, it looks like what you are looking for is a pair of somewhat casual booties that are very walkable?

And given that one pair was $500+, it seems like cost isn't a serious issue.

I would recommend looking at the Rachel Comey booties, in this case.

A pair like these, for example:

These would also work, I think:

These, if you want a higher heel:

To me, booties are the winter equivalent of capris.

Just get some big-girl boots already. And, if you insist on booties, don't wear them with skirts unless you want to look like an overgrown 9th grader.

The key is to select quality leather, elegant-looking booties, not chunky, casual, ones. Unless you're a little more into fashion than most in this provincial DC town...

That's your opinion. I think it looks ridiculous.

Agree. OP needs the kind with the slimmer heel.

I have a pair similar to this (but not suede) that I wear with pencil skirts and tights all the time. They look fab.

+1.

Anonymous wrote:Just not a good look. I googled this to see if people are actually doing this. All the images are crazy skinny women. Why? Because the pencil skirt is one giant horizontal stripe across your thighs and the booties are another horitonzal stripe along you ankles/feet. Makes you super short and choppy looking. Please avoid.

+1. Not that they'll listen to us.

If you want to wear a straight skirt with booties, make it a long straight skirt. Mid calf to ankle - stopping at or just above the bootie. This will look very good. You'll look tall and thin.

The first ones posted would be fine, the other two links from zappos are hideous. also like the rachel comey ones someone posted.
