Because the pencil skirt is one giant horizontal stripe across your thighs and the booties are another horitonzal stripe along you ankles/feet. Makes you super short and choppy looking. Please avoid.

+1. Not that they'll listen to us.

If you want to wear a straight skirt with booties, make it a long straight skirt. Mid calf to ankle - stopping at or just above the bootie. This will look very good. You'll look tall and thin.

Until you get to the part where the bootie chops you off at the ankle. None of the booties in this thread are attractive, sorry.

Different strokes for different folks.

I think a pencil skirt can be worn with a bootie but I am in agreement that the boots in this thread are all ugly.

OP, if DCUM tells you its not OK then you're on the right track.

Damn... I clicked on this thread hoping to find a pencil skirt that fits my big butt without gapping at the waist.

Here's a vote for long skirt

The OPs original selections are for wearing with pants.

And that is pretty, but it is not a pencil skirt. See the thread title

Get one that fits your ass and have it altered. It'll look better and you'll be happier in the long run.

That is not pretty. It's not even hobo chic. The only decent thing on that woman's body is the jacket. Why would you dress yourself like this? Are you trying to look ugly?

Not OP, but how about these with a pencil skirt and black tights:

Oh, one of the panty hose, capri pant, Croc brigade has entered the thread. That outfit is perfectly fine. What would NOT be fine is wearing those clunky boots with a pencil skirt. And none of the boots in this thread are pencil skirt appropriate.

Not at all. I hate pantyhose, capris and crocs. I also hate this look and think it's hideous. I will never understood making yourself look stupid for the sake of being "in fashion."

I wear pantyhose and I think the yellow skirt woman looks fabulous. Awesome edgy style.

Actually, it's your voluntary tard-ism that's not OK, ever.

Unless, of course, your tard-ism isn't voluntary...
