The Alt-right and DCUM

After seeing more about the alt-right and 4chan influencing online polls for Trump after the debate, I'm really interested to know how they are affecting the conversation here on DCUM.

My guess is that there are quite a few people trolling here. 4chan users are tech savvy enough to spoof IP addresses so it's not as obvious to Jeff that the same 400-lb dudes in basements are sh*tposting over and over, but I think it's pretty likely given the overwhelmingly Democratic demographics of the DC area and surroundings.

Either that, or the Trump posters are so much more active here because they don't have jobs like the Clinton supporters do.

Obviously, they were upset with Trump's 400-pounder comment, but I think his declaration of NoFap November as a national holiday could win them back.

Your demographics are way off. This forum is self selecting upper income political ax grinders. There are about an equal number of those in the Washington, D.C. area. Additionally, no offense to Jeff, but why paid to have this forum sh*tposted? The political forum gets a fraction of the traffic of the board over all and the people here already come with their political minds made up..what's the point? I'm going to pick on this poster, not because I think he/she deserves it, but because I think he/she can take it without crying. But, This poster is fairly representative of what's going on. This poster is from a southern state. The poster has posted more than 1600 posts since June -- almost all of them in the Political Forum. Obviously, the poster doesn't have a lot in common with our usual crowd and the sheer number of posts can change the tone of the forum considerably.

Nothing wrong with that and I'm not against it. I'm just pointing it out.

Thanks Jeff! NP here but I had always wondered the same as OP. Whether it was a handful of crazy Trump supporters who were just posting a lot on this board. Seems like the answer is yes.
