| I know a lot of people bathe every day but I grew up bathing every other day and have been doing the same with my children. My friend says every day is necessary in kindergarten. Opinions? |
| My children bathe everyday. It is part of their routine to wind down for the night. |
In the summer yes, because of sunblock, chlorine. In the fall/winter/spring it's every other night, or more if they have an activity (soccer) that day. They're not stinky...yet
|
| No, my kids do it every other day....usually! |
| Every other except for when noticeably stinky or played in dirt a lot. Prone to dry skin. |
We were doing every other day, but DS in K now needs a bath every night. We skip Friday night to get a little more family time since he has outdoor sports first thing Sat. morning. Extra soap on Saturday
|
| My 6th grader does (he needs it). My third grade is almost every day. They get stinkier as they get older, OP. |
| Weekly, unless they request. |
|
Every other day unless there is a specific need For more.
|
| Yes but I only have boys. |
| This must be a cultural practice where parents don't bath their children everyday. Children should be taking baths daily. Children play all day and become dirty. This should not be a question. |
| In the summer, probably. During the school-year, we bathe usually Mon and Fri, but we run water in the tub and do a good washcloth scrub down nightly. |
No cultural practice at play here and my DD bathes every other day unless there's a specific need (got particularly dirty, went swimming, whatever). If she bathes everyday, her skin seems to dry out and we have more trouble with rashes and eczema patches. Seems like this experience isn't uncommon: http://www.wsj.com/articles/are-you-bathing-your-baby-too-much-1415031555 |
I should add, child is 5. |
| Wow--I'm a total slacker compared to most of you. I aim to get my kids (3 and 6) to bathe every other day but sometimes it just doesn't happen. My 6 year old has taken to showering by herself almost every day, which is fine, but the 3 year old resists. They're not smelly and their hair doesn't look dirty even after a few days, so I just let it slide. |
