What do you know? I ended up with the man I wanted and with a similar net worth, albeit not a literal rock star. |
My biglaw equity partner DH makes one of your husband's net worths every year. What's your point? |
Who exactly do you define as artists “of substance”? You don’t have to like her music but she writes, produces, plays the instruments, and clearly has a good business acumen. Plenty of other artists simply sing other people’s work. |
You sound insufferable, and nobody cares. I’m so sure you married a multi multi millionaire. Of course you did. And nobody would rather be a fake model than an actual singer songwriter other than a woman with no self esteem. |
New poster. I'd rather not be famous at all and be with the one I love to be honest. |
I am a fan, and I prefer her with a smarter, more artistic man. Between those two, Matty would be my choice, not that I get any say in the matter. Once knows how to ball, the other one knows Aristotle. One is so high school, the other one is the love and loss of her life. I think if Matty Healy had been ok with all the insanity that surrounded them as a couple, she would have chosen him over everyone and everything else. "I choose you, religiously." |
Wine moms like Matty. People who want the best for Taylor like Travis. |
Are you people really this shallow??? Also, I am out and about every day in DC and I see very few even moderately okay looking women. I know you all think you’re models who are too intellectual to actually work as such but… you’re not. Every poster on dcum is convinced they are gorgeous, wealthy and look incredibly young. It’s like you don’t have to offer any proof of it so it must be so. |
Stevie Nicks is a fan. Eddie Vedder is a fan. Lana DR is a fan. Florence is a fan. These are artists of substance, no? The NYT, New Yorker, WSJ have all recognized her as an excellent song writer. I think she’s doing alright. I’m not exactly sure why you feel superior - because you scored this alleged millionaire? You also sound weirdly jealous. Like, I don’t think you’re not a wildly successful artist because you aren’t pushy, but keep telling yourself that. |
I’m totally with you. It’s one thing for someone to say they don’t care for her. That’s their choice. But to say artists don’t respect her work is just false. Plenty of very successful artists speak highly of her talent. Other artists have been successful recording songs she has written for them too. Not sure why so many people come to a thread about her to hate on her. |
Wow, you've absorbed the Taylor Swift talking points. Tree has done her work well. |
DP. What, exactly, was false in the PP's post? Maybe a better question would be, what, exactly, is your problem? |
I know that you feel the need to prove something by telling anons you’re with such and such man, meanwhile, you’re bagging on a celebrity that you don’t even know. Hmm. |
Matty Healy obviously has some level of intelligence if you listen to him speak on certain subjects and you read his lyrics, etc., but it’s also clear that he has a very low level of emotional intelligence. I’m not even talking about the addiction and drugs. I’m talking about the offensive words that come out of his mouth, how he treats the women in his life, All of this has been documented in the media so don’t need to rehash it, but he is a troubled man. I can’t imagine saying you’d rather someone be with someone who you consider to be intelligent as opposed to someone who you think is not intelligent emotional intelligence into consideration. Travis, of course has a stereotype of not being intelligent and much of that is due to the learning disabilities he has that led him to him struggle in school. Yes, he’s had some issues with drugs, not to the level of MH, but that have impacted his life when he was younger. But the man is super emotionally, intelligent. He’s able to express his feelings, has a strong sense of commitment and love to his family, is philanthropic, and not afraid to show his for those in his life. And on the intelligent note, you may not be well-versed in football, but Travis isn’t only good at football because of his size and raw athletic ability, as a football player you have to memorize a ton of plays and routes so you can be at the right place at the right time. But what makes Travis successful is he not only memorizes his own, he memorizes those of everyone else out on that field so he knows exactly where they will be which allows him to get to a spot on the Field, that may be open based on everything he’s memorized about those plays. There’s a recent article about it and it was pretty interesting. Very rare for a player to do this, or to have the capacity to do that and make decisions in a split second on the fly. Not sure you could call someone who does all that not intelligent, it’s just intelligence used in a different way. |
