Concerned about buying in WJ cluster because of re-zoning

Schools are one of many factors that affect housing prices. The manner by which schools are presently assessed is superficial and misleading.

This whole discussion over school ratings is nonsense. There was a time when school ratings did not exist. If we change things to evaluate schools on how they are serving the most needy kids and find that Watkins mill is the most effective school housing prices there will not magically go up. Home buyers will know demographics regardless of how you want officially rate schools.

Certainly your 7th grader will go to BCC. Where else would they go? Woodward won't be open in time for them.

Superficial and misleading, but ratings do affect houses prices. OP was simply concerned about it and many in same situation will be concerned about it.

I don’t see why it is wrong to be concerned with WJ neighborhoods being zoned out of WJ and potentially to the DCC which will cost those owners tens of thousands if not hundreds of thousands of dollars and turn their lives upside down.

If the wanted to be in the DCC they would have taken the discount and moved there

I'd seriously consider buying in the western edge of Einstein's boundary to get a nice bump when Woodward merges Einstein with WJ.

Creating more SES diversity within the consortiums is a great idea to help better integrate the county. Segregation has gone on for too long.
