It was the playwright woman. The one who wrote their play and sits in front tow during rehearsals. She was talking about Disney because she's just normal. And pointing out that Olivia is the worst, can't even just take something like Epcot at face value/enjoy it for what it is. I guess she was thinking about her neice. Random, but maybe it was part of the conversation in their car, which we didn't see. |
I am done with Olivia. If she and Kevin kiss or do anything one more time, I'm calling bs. She is basically a psychopath. And I could see for one season she changes or something. But the whole point of her, is that she will never guns mentally change. She's one of those people who wants to be messed up, relish in unhappy things. Sorry he has to keep working with her. |
I'm interested to see how they handle the bypass storyline. My sister had that surgery and it's hardly a quick and easy solution. She had to first lose 50 lbs via a doctor-supervised weight loss program before doing the surgery. It's been about a year and a half since she had the surgery and she has lost a ton of weight. |
Olivia is a useful character but not a long term interesting one.
And really, the playwright has more power to make Kevin a star now - with her plays. |
What?! I love Lily from AT&T. I did not recognize her at all. |
I think Rebecca is just a normal mom. We all struggle the same ways she does; protecting our kids, constantly worrying that we are messing it all up, trying to be the perfect parent, debating if our choices are right for our kids. If anything I think this show shos how seeminly minor things are remembered by kids and sometimes taken the wrong way and have a huge impact on their lives. I think they make her out to "have issues" for example the Kate flashbacks where she feels bad about her body because her mother is thin (episode where she grabbed a shirt for her and saw the size S) but she is just a typical mom trying to do what is best for her kids. i don't think she is trying to be hard on Kate and her weight, but unfortunately Kate takes it that way and that is really her issue. I get it because I have struggled with my weight and still remember how a simple comment from my mom when I was 10 had a huge impact on me. All she said was "maybe you should have water with dinner instead of milk" 30 yrs later and I still remember it |
It is correct that the actress has a commitment in her contract that she will lose weight. http://www.usmagazine.com/celebrity-news/news/this-is-us-star-chrissy-metz-my-contract-includes-weight-loss-w451353 Also, I don't think they are padding her. |
I think it kind of worked, because he was tripping balls , so they could explain all that shit easily. |
I like checking in on this thread every week. I have moved from tearing up to borderline sobbing every week. So hooked. |
Also, I don't think the actress who plays Kate is padded.

Love the show now. Love the Dad. Love the actor brother. So sweet. Whose the actor in real life? Cause he's a cutie! And Randall's father is great especially how he changes character from young to old. The kids are adorable too ! Especially young Randall and the young actor character. And I adore Randall's younger daughter. Soooo cute. |
Thanksgiving episode was corny in parts but tugged at my heartstrings too. The way the kids remember the family tradition and the love they have for their dad. I'm dying to know how the dads life plays out........I'm already grieving him when he's inevitably going to be gone ![]() |
I think she's padded for all public appearances for the big reveal of her weightloss in her character's storyline. Also in the show, her double chin / neck wattle is much bigger, which I think is done by make up. If they can make Mandy Moore look like she's in her 60s, they can add a few pounds to Chrissy Metz. |
I just started watching - two episodes in- now the site says no episodes available?! Anyone know why?? |
You're right! Thanks for posting that! |
