It used to be the WASP club and Columbia was for the Catholics but more and more Catholics are joining Chevy.

University Club has traditionally been the club for the folks on the younger side, but I've been told that the Metropolitan Club is trying to attract younger members (I don't know if they are succeeding, the youngest members I know there are around 60).

The Cosmos Club is a little different. Joining the Metropolitan Club requires enough money and connections, and the more you have of the former the less you need of the latter.

People put up for membership in the Cosmos Club are people considered to have done meritorious original work in science, literature, or the arts,” or who are “recognized as distinguished in a learned profession or in public service.”

Chevy is episcopal, Columbia is catholic

Those are the three best courses (Congo Blue and Woodmont North plus Columbia's one). Ignoring golf, most of the DCUM wasps would demote Woodmont and substitute Chevy.
