Thanks, sister. I will cheerfully admit to a little too much time on my hands today, and a "robust" temper in general. Just made me mad after a while.

That is a good result. Sounds like Sidwell boys' soccer and boys' cross-country are both having strong seasons.

I guess the Athletics at Sidwell are not up to par.

Article from DC Sports fan on yesterday's Sidwell football win over league opponent St. James; sounds like they have some good young talent.

The opponent that sidwell beat in a lopsided game yeseterday was the opponent that Sidwell played on the day the city paper covered its game. Last year was a severe beating. This year Sidwell won. So measured against that team, Sidwell has improved.

Yes, Sidwell won. You omitted the fact that the opponent is now 1-6, and has been outscored by its opponents 207-64. Sidwell has done a good job finding as many cupcakes as possible.

Cross-country. LOL.

Hey, 11:21 -- when you're done laughing about XC, would you mind posting how many miles you run a week? (Just as a baseline, top high school runners do about 60-70 miles per week.) Oh, and we'd love to know your mile PR time as well . . .

I am curious as to why someone is so interested in a football team that has no region-wide success or aspirations for the season? It seems simply bizarre to repeatedly bump this thread with updates. I am sure, if anyone is interested, they can check the Washington Post scores/standings or the school website for results.

Translation: Please ignore the sorry state of Sidwell athletics. Nothing to see here.

Manifesto McRant: I've had it. I am so tired of what appears to be one mean-spirited poster targeting one school and, for the most part, one team.

Who am I? I am not a Sidwell parent. I am not a Sidwell graduate. I don't have children who play football. I do have kids who play sports at other DC-area independent schools. I do have good friends who graduated from Sidwell, and a couple who teach at Sidwell. I do think it is incredibly nasty to constantly harp on the fortunes of one team of high school kids, some of whom are as young as 14, mocking their efforts when unsuccessful under the mantle of criticizing the "state of Sidwell athletics." I believe that as much fun as crazy DCUM world is, occasionally it would be good to lock a thread, but I get that that is not the policy and I respect that it's a policy that has worked well for this very successful site.

So, I am going to start posting results of other Sidwell sports teams in this thread, and lots of them. And I'm going to bump other threads up when the Sidwell Football Stalker posts their usual mean-spirited responses.

Sorry, but I'm just tired of reading this stuff for a year.

St. James is a league opponent, comedian--on the schedule every year. Did you not figure that out by Googling their football team?
