Summer swim brings out the crazy

Anonymous
Ignoring the irrelevant commentary above, the OKM kids swam an amazing meet and my understanding is their reps actually informed Tuckahoe in advance that their swimmers would be suited up to make attempts at some team records. The fact that Tuckahoe was not suited up and still won by 75+ is also quite impressive.

It’s amazing what a little recruiting can do!

Show us where OKM recruited. (Are you arguing that growing pool memberships is recruiting? OKM does not, and never had, a waitlist. It didn’t an HOA, and it accepts members from anywhere.

Because I’m annoyed and also SMH, I’ll break down the OKM swimmers and tell you when they joined the team (all info public on mynvsl.com:

OMG, you aren’t kidding!! Absolutely batsh*t obsession. I warned people about OKM last year and y’all were like nooo, they’re nice! Nope, they’re nuts. And now you have it in writing above.

I have definitely found that teams that were once in low divisions and quickly moved up tend to be completely insane and take it all too seriously. Even teams that have just made it into Div 4 completely insane. D1 are always crazy but the "new money" folks are a different level.

The summer swim only parents caught up in all of the noise around summer swim think it does. 🙄 Just the fact that people use the phrase “suited up” when talking about summer swim gives me a chuckle.

You seriously posted this...man the OKM reps are freakin insane... ??

Not PP, but very doubtful this was an OKM rep, and the person who was the PP stated he/she/they were not OKM or even D1. Said they were D2 but tired of the incessantly childish “recruiting, mean swim parents, crazy person” allegations that someone(s) on here keep/s throwing around without any proof other than just being a jerk. So good on whoever can refute that middle school name-calling with actual evidence to the contrary. (And it’s really not super hard to do. NVSL, CSL, and USA Swimming have databases that are easy clicks to find out anything about any swimmer.)

Seriously PP get a hobby. You seem a bit obsessed.

I can easily put this together for Overlee, Tuckahoe, Chesterbrook, etc to refute every single claim of recruitment. (I’m not even an OKM member.) The “recruiting” byline is so tired, and the gaslighting of “PP you’re crazy, you’re obsessed, get a hobby” is your only retort when someone (quickly and easily) refutes your BS claims with data. Our team, which is in D2, also receives its fair share of “you’re recruiting” allegations. And I compile the same data to show otherwise.

So I’ll gaslight you right back: Alleging that a faster, better team has to recruit to be faster and better, and pairing that with BS allegations of other bad team rep, parental, or coach behavior, shows your own immaturity. Just because these teams do summer swim better than your team does not mean they are recruiting (which, BTW, is not per se unethical when a pool is trying to gain new members), does not mean the kids aren’t having fun, and does not mean the other team has a bunch of a$$holes as reps, coaches, and parents. YOU need to get a life and stop deflecting your own inadequacies by claiming recruitment and dishonesty by other teams.

How dare logic come into DCUM Swimming forum.

Like why? Why this comment? Do you have an actual recruiting story? Or do you just like to say “Tuckahoe recruits,” “Chesterbrook recruits,” “Old Keene Mill recruits,” “Crosspointe recruits” because…you’re obsessed? Like why, for real? Are you the person behind the whole Hydra/Tuckahoe conspiracy theory too? I’m glad for anyone to make you own the allegations you make, even if it is a little over the top with the data.

I was with you until you brought up Hydra/Tuckahoe. No need to rehash but plenty of hard facts and data to show that situation was shady.

This thread is so fun to read. It is great! Thank you for the free entertainment. It makes me smile knowing how immature, ridiculously dull, and pathetic parents have become today. If your life is defined by your DC’s sport the sand that was kicked in your face as a child must be stuck deeply in your skull. Your child’s success whether great or small will not change the fact you are a loser.

Thread should be retitled to include NCSL since this has turned into a discussion about NCSL teams.

I guess there is no insanity at MCSL?

Based on DCUM, the insanity surrounding NVSL is not something that is replicated in MCSL or any other DMV summer swim league. I’m sure there are still some crazies and some drama, but not on the scale of NVSL.

We are in division C in mcsl (A is the highest) and no, I have not seen this. If there is insanity like this in levels A or B I hope we don't move up!
