He’s next in line for the throne, so you’d think it would have been a good opportunity for him to act as official/unofficial leader of the firm while his father is out. They have a full staff that can handle everything at home, so it would probably be good to have at least one senior Royal out doing royal things.

I guess either Kate’s situation is way worse than we know, or William just took it as an excuse to do less.

Staff are not the same as parents . Especially if the kids are upset about their mom’s absence.

This is 2024. Let’s hope that modern royals are actually close to their young children.

The kids are all in school, so he could still be hands-on in their eyes while not having to worry about household chores. He could very easily drop them off, heli to London, check on Kate, then do a quick charity appearance (they usually last 30 mins) before heli back to pick up the kids from school and be with them the rest of the day. Single parents do more and are still there for their kids.

The royal family’s approval rating has been slipping since the Queen died, and many have already called out William for his lack of commitment to the job. It could have been an opportunity to change the narrative.

You think multiple helicopter rides per day would be good for his image?

It also rules out cosmetic surgery, unless they planned some giant elaborate ruse.

And with the 8:30pm convoy to the hospital—that speaks more emergency

The X poster corrected it to say 6.30pm was time of footage. If it was HRH Catherine then it's a possibility she's been in hospital since Dec 28th, maybe a different hospital as an 'acute' case for around 3 weeks, and then admitted for a 'planned' surgery at TLC yesterday.

All just speculation and I'm starting to feel a bit guilty as I'm sure it's last thing she wants.

I think she does a lot for our RF and I wish her a smooth and swift recovery.

Thanks. Feel the same way. Guilty for wanting to know/pry as I am very private and not even in the public eye like her. Especially with young kids that probably don’t know much either.

Me too! I am obsessively private and forbid any of my family from telling anyone anything!! Feel for her as she's clearly quite a naturally shy person. Even more impressive she carries out her public role so we'll IMHO.

Omg I hope you're not American, this boot licking is so embarrassing.

I'm happy and grateful to be a citizen of a country with a constitutional monarchy and King as Head of State and Head of the Courts.

It's a system that works well for many countries. Ofc there are alternatives, Macron, Putin, Trump. Each to their own. Our Kings and Queens do not in my view have any kind of life I envy. But QE2 was there with her tupperware and Christianity and a calendar of public duties which put many 'public servants' to shame.

RiP Queen Elizabeth! Long Live the King!

And good Lord she would not be spending 10 to 14 days for plastic surgery recovery she would be off on vacation somewhere. Obviously, there is something serious going on that requires monitoring for that long.

Maybe they got lost while looking for the Daily Mail comments section.

A bunch of you on here think you could plan out the PR aspect of this better than anyone else

First of all, you don’t know what it is.
Second, you don’t know how kids are reacting.
You don’t know their daily routines.
You don’t know how oldest vs. youngest vs. middle is reacting. It could be all over the board.
You don’t know anything about them.

Yet you’re like *pushes in glasses* “He should have continued his work because the kids don’t need him. They’re in school all day.”

William likely lightened his calendar in case something goes wrong with his father surgery.

He’s already doing that part.

There’s nothing to tuck.

Loose skin. She seems like someone who overexercises, do that during pregnancy and voila diastis recti.

Do you need glasses? Where is the loose skin?

What type of x ray glasses do you wear? How would anyone see if she had loose skin under her clothes?

Poor woman. It must be something quite serious. I hope she is ok.

The conspiracy loons are really out in full force in this thread

I mean is it a “conspiracy” to think that something can’t simultaneously be a nbd, planned surgery and require two weeks in hopsital stay followed by months of recovery? The statement itself is clearly BS

The official statement didn't say this was NBD.

Why say “Charles is being hospitalized for an enlarged prostate” and the same day give a vague weird “it’s not cancerous but she’s going to be hospitalized for weeks” about Kate?

William taking time off to support his wife and children increases my opinion of him.

Chrons or diverticular disease requiring an open surgery colon resection (w/ or without temporary stoma)

Love the way you are 99.999% sure

Spanx don't work that well, genius.

This is sad. It’s the most basic expectation of a husband and father. It should not be impressive. He doesn’t even have a real job.

I think there is something fishy with all of this. Why announce her surgery after the fact, but give a week's notice for Charles? What type of abdominal, non cancerous surgery takes 2 weeks in hospital to recover from? None. Hysterectomy is days not weeks even with complications. Why didn't they wait for Charles announcement but put it out in haste 2 hours after hers - unless there is something to cover up.

I think there is a lot more to this and it isn't all medical related. They have a hospital setup with a team of doctors at the palace, she doesn't need to stay in a hospital somewhere else to 'recover'. She recovered ridiculously quickly after each birth so she is no wallflower, and they said it isn't serious so someone is lying....

Definitely a cover up - either someones had a breakdown, been injured/hurt etc etc. Guess we'll never know.

Hopefully the patient got a vote.

They are different people with different health problems, so it is not surprising they made different choices.
