Point taken. I certainly thought capital would win more than one game out of 6. Seeing the 27s finish winless as well was surprising.

It’s not just that they didn’t win, the games weren’t really that close across the board against the top clubs. Clearly a tier or two down, which is a blinking caution light for this team.

What is your definition or margin of a close game? Just curious; Did you see the games?

I think the comment about the games not being that close was in reference to the 2027s.

Not the prior poster, but I saw the 2028s. They had several close games, where there were ties or 1-2 goal spreads well into the second half, but the games finished at 3-4 goal losses. Eagle Stix was the only game that was out of reach from early on.

Funny thing is that they post anonymously. We know who they are. One of 2 very special guys.

There a lot of haters for a variety of reasons, so don't assume anything here.

If this weekend goes as expected, does anyone know if Cap will be the ones requesting lower brackets, or if the tournaments will be ones mandating it? Thanks for any and all, just getting a feel for how it works.

Not totally sure, but it seems a little unfair to place them into top brackets on name only to begin with especially their first year together. I have no idea why M&D appears to be in the lower bracket (although they sponsor the tournament so maybe they put themselves there) as they should certainly be ahead of Captial (and SW) and MDU probably has a case to be up there as well.

They aren't that "new" of a team. half of the team has played together for years. Just rip the band aid off. If you want to play in top brackets eventually, why wait. Might as well see what you need to work on. What is the advantage of playing B teams for a year? I am not sure what is miraculously going to change in a year it is the same players and they only practice together once a week. sure they will get more comfortable with each other, but so will all of the other teams.

Not sure if this is what PP meant, but I took at it is unfair to other teams (M&D, MDU) that should probably be in the top bracket instead of them. So regardless if they request it or not the tournament directors shouldn't give them top bracket just becasue of the Capital name (and for this age group SW name)

It makes no sense to me why the club or directors would put M&D in a lower bracket considering how they have been playing. Honestly, I would not be surprised if M&D emerges as the top MD team this year. Hero's has struggled to come together and M&D looks sharp based on what I have seen. Things are going to get interesting this year.

+1 Despite not having any 4 or 5 star players, I tend to agree they are likely to separate from the park this year.

M&D ranked #1 in the first rankings of the year. Soft schedule for the remainder of the fall should help their rating math, leaving them as the #1 until summer.
