Wohm moms- how involved are you at your kid's elementary school and related activities?

How many things do you do at your child's elementary school and related activities? This includes PTA involvement, chaperoning field trips, attending class parties, gatherings in the evening for school for fundraisers, concerts, and school events, and taking your kid to classmate's birthday parties on the weekend

I am involved in all of the above. I served on the PTA board for two years and also ran my kid's scout troop. I do have a somewhat flexible schedule at work, but I do work full time, and only work from home in rare cases.

I will usually do one trip a year, come in for my child's birthday and read to the class and attend parent teacher conferences. All the rest of the stuff happens on evenings or weekends, so I don't see what WOH has to do with that.

I do nothing. Not because I don't have time or flexibility to do it, just because I do not want to be involved.

Go on one field trip a year and send in supplies/food for parties. Very involved with the activities at the end of the year. I take time off of work. I don't do PTA or auction.

Involved with all the activities on your list except PTA. We do a family basket for the auction

I do all of it -- very involved. However, I only work four days per week so I have a full day off every week to volunteer and take care of family stuff. Makes a huge difference.

I don't have a flexible workplace . I do anything I can on weekends or after school. I don't make it to any in school parties but always there for parent teacher meetings etc. hoping to change that his year and attend Halloween or some other event.

All of the above. I WOH but can flex the hours around enough to be there when I need or want to. My PTA involvement is mostly after hours as opposed to running the book fair, for example, but I do believe in being active in the community so make as much time as I can. Not everyone can or wants to, which is okay.

All of those listed. I plan a couple days leave each year for PTS/school activities but can often work part of the day. I also volunteer for things I can do from home on evenings, coordinating sign-ups, newsletters, directory, etc.

This is me too. At least we own it.

I'm a Girl Scout leader. Occasional PTA volunteering--like I'll help at an event. But won't take any permanent chair positions. Also serve as team mom for various sports--always arranging snacks or year-end parties. I try to avoid things that involve stupid, endless committee meetings at night. But if you give me a task I can do independently, them I'll gladly do it.

I always volunteer for the class parties and my DH or I try to attend at least one field trip. We attend the auction and PTA events like bingo and school picnics.

I volunteer in the classroom at parties once or twice a year, am the mystery reader once a year, and do one field trip a year. Field trips at our school are poorly organized, so that part causes me a lot of stress. The rest I am happy to do.
