Consumer confidence continues to improve

Economists had expected a 0.8% increase in spending, according to Bloomberg data. January retail sales previously posted a surprise -1.1% decrease. February sales, excluding auto and gas, increased by 0.3%, in line with estimates. |

Oil is a big factor - Trucking and logistics are impacted by fuel costs and that in turn impacts retailers and prices in stores and everywhere else. Meanwhile, the oil companies are posting record profits. That means they could reduce prices, but refuse to and are instead greedily gouging. |
