I'm curious as to the range of prices in the DC area. I am wondering what the variability is.

DC #1 Age: 2.5 yo

DC#2 Age: 10 months

Location: southern Bethesda

In-home or Center: Center

Hours Covered: 7 AM-6 PM

Cost: $1950/$2175 for #1/#2

$8000 for the academic year
(plus $300 for half day summer camp at the rec center)

Toddler/preschool program for 2 yo
half day, twice a week
$2.5K for the academic year

Au pair for remainder of our childcare needs - $22k/year

Total childcare & preschool costs: approx $33K/year for two kids

(we also have subsidize back-up care through work which covers AP's vacation weeks and a week or two of gap coverage between APs)

It's called WeCare DayCare, operated by Eymy Telleria. You can find all her contact info in this document (northern Virginia region). We've been very, very happy with both the quality and the price.
