| I started an exercise boot camp a month ago 4x/week. I feel great that I didn't miss a workout since I started. Now I'm sick with a cold, sore throat, chest congestion. I know I shouldn't push myself too quickly or recovery may take longer. Any rules of thumb for when to return to exercise after being sick? Thanks |
| If I have a fever I won't exercise until its gone. usually won't until the sore throat has cleared up as well. With a cough,congestion I will reduce how much and how hard I work out but I still do something - I let my body tell me whether I'm doing too much. For coughs I often find exercise helps to clear it up and out of my lungs. BUT I also make sure I'm getting plenty of liquids and sleep - to me those are the most important components to getting back into healthy form. |
