I am sad that summer is almost over

It's almost August already and summer is my favorite season.

I love summer night, long days, and being outside. And the more relaxed summer vibe. Fall starts the "crazy busy" season of homework, team sports, and the holidays. I love the slower pace of summer.

I don't enjoy the super hot days we had in July but I like average summer temps around 78-85. That is perfect summer weather.

I know work has been really busy for me and I finally can catch my breath and its August. . Oh well have to make the most of it.

Where I came from, school started in mid-august, so school would be starting soon. Here, school doesn't start until after Labor Day. There's still a good month of summer left.

We have another month of summer left! And that's just school starting; the weather will stay hot for another 6-8 weeks. Let's not put this one away before it is done.

I just addressed our Christmas cards so will not have that hanging over me in early December.

New poster here. I like the crisp, cool weather in the fall. But I always miss the long days of summer when the kids can play outside for hours after school. The days are already getting shorter......

It's so much easier to manage my children at the pool in summer than during winter months.

During past summers, camp drop off and pick up has been easier because the traffic is less busy. However, this summer, the traffic has been just as bad on the beltway so unfortunately, logistically it's been as challenging as during the school year.

I'm dreading when the kids return to school. Our lives become so much more hectic.

No sports or activities or homework during summer...just camp, the pool, and lots of trips to the beach.

Racing home to get the kids to practice, then frantically finishing homework super sucks. Our Saturdays are filled with games in far flung towns. Sundays are the only day off, and I typically spend the day cleaning.

Ugh.

Our school went through June 22 (or so, forget the exact date) and doesn't start til September 5. My my count were pretty much exactly halfway through summer, not almost done with it.

I respect our differences, OP. I feel about summer, the way some people feel about winter. For me the end of summer can't come soon enough.

I love the 5:00pm sunsets, crisp mornings, cooking, being outdoors without feeling sticky, and warm, comforting things.
