I am sad that summer is almost over

This. Op, look at your calendar. Summer is only half over. I also love our lazy summer days.

I know, me too. Now that the weather will get colder, women will start bundling up instead of wearing less clothing.

I am too but I'm glad school is on the horizon for the kids.

To me it feels like the end of summer as well. I dread winter and the cold weather/snow. It makes me so anxious and depressed and starts for me every single August.

What's with this half over business? Two-thirds over! Ugh. I love summer.

Hate winter with a passion. Literally cross each winter day off the calendar and hold my breath about whether there will be snow and mess and disruption the next day.

I prefer to take a short getaway at start of summer, but save the long trip for August. Keeps me going through hot July.

I love the 5:00pm sunsets, crisp mornings, cooking, being outdoors without feeling sticky, and warm, comforting things.

Me, too! I can't wait to be able to take nice long walks again without drowning in sweat. Summers here are awful.

Same here. Can't wait for fall.

I feel a creeping anxiety as we move into fall and hit DST. 5 pm darkness is the absolute pits. I love being outside all day long in summer and 9 pm sunset.

We just moved to CO and school starts August 8th. I can't even believe it, being used to post labor day beginnings. What am I doing to do with all of August and no kids? Feels so strange.

I'm from Georgia and all my friends who live there have kids who went back July 28. NUTS

And we all know summer heat continues into September - and sometimes October. It ain't over until the first snow hits!

... and sometimes into November. They used to call it the "Indian Summer". Clear blue sky and cool dry air.

I'm an "outdoorsy" person but just don't understand this. Don't you feel sweaty, sticky, and smelly? Everything smells 100x more in the summer - from everything outside, to ourselves. Do you like feeling like you need to take a shower again, an hour after you've taken a shower? Or collect bugs on your sticky sweaty body? Do you like being sunburned? Damaging your skin? Do you like being stung by mosquitoes, or wasps & bees? Or dehydration from sweating all the time?

But I empathize, because my anxiety creeps in starting in March. I dread all of the above, and more. I can't wait to enjoy being outside again!
