Psst: do you know how many millions of Boomers retired from the work force? The vast majority of whom are native born? Of course immigrants are backfilling. Labor Inflation would be thru the roof if they were not here to work |
Nope. Not good. Jobs Up 275,000 with 52,000 More Government Jobs, Employment Down 184,000 https://mishtalk.com/economics/jobs-up-275000-with-52000-more-government-jobs-employment-down-184000/ |
| Are price controls coming? |
Only under an authoritarian Trump regime. |
Not a surprise US productivity is stagnant or declining or low wage sectors. The country is awash in available labor. |
| Both political parties like to attribute the current economic situation to the president regardless of whether the president is actually the cause of these problems. It's really difficult to casually attribute macroeconomic outcomes to specific policies of one administration. I am not defending Biden, but it is equally possible that economic concerns we are experiencing now could be the result of Trump or even Obama. Not to mention congress. The presidents main policy levers to impact the economy are mainly through rulemaking and operations via executive agencies. |
If that were the case, wages would not be going up. But they are, ergo...? |
We can attribute the lower inflation as compared to the rest of the industrialized world specifically to the bills Biden pushed when he came into office. He learned from the 2008/2009 meltdown how to get the US through a catastrophic economic collapse and clearly it has been successful. We can also attribute the marked return of manufacturing jobs to these same bills. In a vacuum, I would agree with you, but those two specific pieces of legislation would not have happened under Trump or a GOP president. |
The job reports isn't a good indicator anymore, there should be classifications of jobs, the good jobs are being cut left and right, check out tech its a bloodbath, no wonder people think the government is lying
