My daughter was invited to a birthday sleepover. Found out that birthday girl's sister was being treated for lice. Was told that she did the chemical shampoo and had the nits picked out three days ago.. Parents assured me she was no longer contagious which somewhat seems accurate based on research I did. They had gone through a lice incident a couple years ago so seemed non chalant about it. I still feel apprehensive about having my daughter sleep over. What would you do?
They should reschedule the sleepover. That is absurd, to expect parents to drop their kids off. Not worth it.
No, sorry. No way.
How did you find out? Did the parents tell you or did you hear about it through the kids?
Noooooope
Seriously - bunch of uptight parents here. Lice do not live long if they are not on a live person. Would send. Especially as it sounds like they are being upfront - then you take precautions - put hair in braids - no sharing of hats/pillows/etc.
No, I wouldnt. Don't think I am being uptight, just cautious.
I don't allow Sleep overs in general! There are enough hours for friends to spend time together
|
There are enough hours during the day. |
It takes 2 weeks of daily combo it's to get rid of lice. No way.
^comb outs
NO way
No way nope nope nope
Nope, sorry. Lice is not the end of the world, but it is a major inconvenience.
If you do, just take some precautions. If your daughter has long hair, put in a braid. Tell her to use her own pillow only. Wash her hair before and after with tea tree oil shampoo.
