Exactly. And to boot, there are posters neither complaining nor supporting Spirit. But in listening to the arguments, and in knowing a few things about Spirit from both direct experience and indirectly through other parents, my vote of credibility goes to you the unhappy parent. Do these Spirit diehards think FCV or Arlington hired you to complain on here?! Give me a break. Complaints totally sound plausible and thanks for being willing to put it up on this message board. I can use my own judgement on what to believe, and the blindly pro-Spirit poster(s) can go rethink their strategy and what works on an anonymous message board. To me, they have a bigger motivation for an "agenda." And by the way, our daughter and all her friends are big time positive about Spirit and would rather go there then the ECNL route where they are stuck now. That could always change, but we like Spirit. Nothing wrong in their problems being discussed here. It doesn't seem like one poster either. |

Assigning “credibility” on an anonymous forum is a fool’s errand.
There are many examples I have read here that completely argue against credibility for the negative poster. Poster above seems to want to ignore any of the good posts as “blindly pro-Spirit” but weigh the negative posts with more credibility. Why? It’s a well known fact that complainers are much more vocal than those who are content, which contradicts your theory on who has the greater agenda. The bottom line is that it’s not smart to form opinion opinions from things written in this thread. To an intelligent person, none of this is credible, nor should it be; until it’s tied to a name of a person who is part of the environment. This cohort can keep pushing their one-sided, negative views, but that doesn’t make their views accurate. A lie travels around the world before the truth has a chance to get its pants on. |
| ^ Yet you keep posting no facts or info that matches anything I've witnessed or heard from other parents at WS-VA. You just attack the posters, but haven't provided anything to refute the problems on roster size or playups. Unfortunately, the power of anonymous message boards is that this stuff is talked about at other clubs. You can poo-poo it away, but where there is smoke there is fire. I'm not going to dump 10K on WS-VA in a year or two for my DD until I start seeing this conversation prove something different than what I am seeing online about the roster sizes and hearing from parents in other age groups. |
| ^ NP here. Are you saying you are waiting to spend $10K until you start seeing this conversations prove something different? That's ingenious and unbelievable. Seems like the only one creating the smoke is you. Your views are so polarized that you do not realize there are few blindly Pro-Spirit posts on here... |
How many WS parents are there that don’t even post here? A pro or anti-biased agenda is never credible when objectivity is lacking. You don’t need to bring your kid to Spirit but your take on these posts is backing up the earlier claim that continuing to post so much negativity is bound to only make matters worse than better. None of the negative things posted are insurmountable problems that a level of patients and level headed communication can’t solve with the TD. Monday’s practices were a problem. The angry poster never stated that some shuffling to resolve the conflicts had been addressed. The poster complained about roster size but never stated that a roster of 19 went to NY and not 22 or 23 kids. The posters have complained about a 3 year playup. Well, the kid played one game as a sub at 04 and then played two with 05’s We can go in with OBJECTIVE facts but the posters have self serving agendas and are simply moving the goal posts. |
| NP here. I have 10,000 as well and reading this just like many other 07 and 08 parents. You read, we all read, it influences things FBOW. That is why the VYSA pubs to the clubs talk so much about social media. I wouldn't spend 10,000 or 1,000 on an Amazon product that even had a well-written, credible negative review. Know many parents who rely on anonymous Amazon reviews, so I wouldn't downplay the value of DCUM. Jeff will tell you otherwise too! |
| I have not seen the games but it seems WS-VA is doing well at the 18/19 age group despite 5-6 players that are 15 to 16 years old. They are 3-0, are they overachieving? Improving after time in the system? |

As a neutral observer reading this thread, it seems pretty clear that there are several posters voicing their complaints and criticisms about the way WS does things, just as there are several posters defending them.
Those of you who insist otherwise come off as being really weird. |
Gotcha, so you’re saying that an organization or individual can start an anonymous Internet “feedback” strategy that trashes a competitor and you’ll believe it, because, duh, the Internet is always right. Sounds like pure genius right there. In the words of PT Barnum, there’s a sucker born every minute. |
Clear...how? They post under “anonymous.” No disrespect intended, but you come off as being a little naive. |
Hello Pot. If you are an intern for Spirit, which you may be, then go re-read the recent VYSA Touchline. You are here posting because you obviously think people are reading and that what is said here matters. If this were a trivial segment of the NoVA crazed soccer populace, you would do a lot better then Mr. PT. Have a good one Pot. |
+1 |
The PP was correct about you. You just put down and criticize the posters personally. |
Way to go Spirit, attack your audience personally again. Classy. |
New poster here. Actually, the PP made a valid point on not blindly trusting anonymous comments. There has been personal attacks in both directions in this train wreck of a thread. I agree with the majority here that this feedback is not credible. The original negatives (45 minute training overlap and an 07 playing up with the 04s) have been addressed by WS within the first few weeks of the season, yet the negativity doesn’t acknowledge the positive changes and continues. I even saw a post here stating something to the effect of “good thing WS didn’t play this weekend, that was they couldn’t lose” or similar before it was rightly removed by the moderator. We know someone here is blindly anti-WS. That blindness prevents objectivity. This is why these overwhelmingly negative posts simply aren’t credible. |
