Btw...the leagues go Elite, AAA, AA, A, B.... So beating up on neighborhood programs, as well as the big boys B teams makes you much closer to mediocre than Elite. I'm sure VLC brass strives to do better and believes they were better in the past.

HoCo doesn't have any "neighborhood programs", idiot.

Actually, outside of a very small number of teams I would classify all of the teams as being neighborhood based. The clubs have a practice field(s) and those kids come from about a 10 mile radius. Now if you think that's too large for a neighborhood definition then okay.

By that logic every team in HoCo is a "neighborhood team".

Glad you can read and agree with the point except for a few upper tier teams who used to attract families from outside their main practice area like the Crabs, Hawks and Madlax. Outside of programs like these, VLC and the others are neighborhood based and their play depends on how good the coaching is and how often they practice. Hawks are serious and they practice year round. I'm guessing VLC doesn't.

(shrug) Most MadLax kids come from within a 10 mile radius of McLean, so they too are a "neighborhood team".

"I'm guessing VLC doesn't." -- you obviously don't know anything about VLC, so I am puzzled why you feel the need to come into the VLC thread and talk about it.

But they have practice in the fall and spring, as well as skills sessions in the winter.

Didn't know this was a members only forum.
Madlax's older teams used to draw from all around the region and they used to have a national team. Not as much anymore with all the negative association.

The elite division has teams practice year round. You've confirmed vic doesn't. This is a big reason why they aren't as good and mostly play in lower tiers. It's okay and thanks for clearing it up for everyone.

Based on having a child in the 2015 and 2024 (boys) classes and being associated with a few clubs, I rank the quality of practices below with regards to the overall development of the players:

1. VLC
2. BW
3. NL
4. MadLax

All of these programs are doing year round activities in one form or another except for maybe BW

I guess you are ranking amateur teams, which is why DCE was left off the list.

Sorry Mom, you can't change the fact that VLC plays in lower tiers and they aren't as good as the elite teams. The reasons are obvious in that they don't run year round team practices like those other clubs and they have b@#$h moms like you trying to prop up bad arguments. I'm not dissing middle school kids at all but I did notice how the original thread ripped 91 and NL specifically saying those kids didn't deserve to play in the top tiers. Now go back to cheering on the sideline and asking the other Moms what the rules are and why your son doesn't play more. See, it's easy to be a bitch on an anonymous thread.

Why is this idiotic? The HoCo tiers are specifically organized to try and match the competitive levels. The coaches actually have a big hand in how they seed themselves. So looking at the results, it looks like VLC likes to sandbag.

If it makes you feel better, this troll tried to rile up the DC Express page months back. But he soon went away when all the 21's did is win. Then backed up it with 16 kids committed to really great schools within the first 6 months and plenty more to come.

It's no wonder lacrosse players get a reputation of being a bit douchey. The parents here are full on douches. I know just saying that makes me one but I'll at least own it. Jeez we should change this forum to "Dance Moms" forum.

Great stuff! I am guessing this is all coming from Dads and not Moms. The Moms I know don't generally check out Hoco records and argue. If I am wrong and any of you are Moms, feel free to fess up and I will stand corrected!

My kids and I have never personally been involved with DCE so I can't speak to their practices which is why they were left off. I've heard great things about their staff though and can only assume they'd be somewhere in the top 3.

My husband is a coach for one team frequently mentioned on here and he'd rather have his balls ripped off with toenail clippers and have them shoved down his throat that read or post on any section of this site. He's not a beta.
