Nysmith allegedly allowed antisemetic bullying and expelled the kids who's parents complained

It was founded as Nysmith School for the Gifted and Talented, back when the public school AAP program was the GT program - gifted and talented. They were trying to draw those same kids.

And now they target families whose kids didn't get into AAP. There's a school in Herndon that they compete with for that, forget its name.

Well it originally required students have a certain minimum IQ and be classified gifted. They don’t require that anymore.

Like that couldn't possibly be gamed...from its inception this is a school that's catered to parents who desperately want their kids to be seen as special snowflakes. Toxic leadership, obnoxious parents, and kids left in the crosshairs.

Actual question - how does a 7 year old game an IQ test?

And we wonder why the world is irredeemable and the future is bleak for all our kids. Well done.

This. Half the world could be dying of war and starvation but we must focus on remembering the Holocaust. Does anyone else besides Jewish people matter to some of you?

They don't, but it evolved over time from an IQ test to a test as to whether or not the parents' checks cleared. Parents very much wanted to believe that their kids were special and paid to have "for the gifted" in the title of the school. Eventually, the business model became untenable so the hard criteria became markedly softer.

For those of us who canceled our WaPo subscriptions in light of Bezos’ censorship perhaps someone could use a gift link or summarize what was said?

What did the parents do that makes them colossal bullies? What suggests they are misrepresenting what happened?

So, you don’t want to fund the weapons because bezos controls the editorial page, and you want the paper to shut down even though you are desperate for the reporting the journalists do? Make it make sense.

You’re just cheap.

Well you sound like a nutter. I’m not desperate for the reporting WaPo writers produce. Their journalistic integrity is in tatters, which is why so many journalists left rather than face being compromised.

Happy to pay for real journalism, which is no longer available from WaPo. I was curious about what inspired the post calling the parents bullies. Not enough to renew my WaPo subscription tho.

I get your point but trauma can make people self-centered. Jews are a traumatized population.

That the family said they don't trust the school to educate their children, why would the school then keep them? What exactly do you think should have happened here (not sure what they are trying to get exactly from the lawsuit, other than attention and a big payday)?

It’s definitely telling a lot about how the school targets children, thus ensuring compliance from parents. That’s the only clear lesson to be learned.

Let’s all just jump to wild conclusions. Facts be damned.
