It's all speculation at this point. What we can be certain about is that there will be additional moves that will upset the daily course of events for the players. The players usually come last in the course of consideration. In some ways, the changes will be welcomed. There will be players moving from one ECNL team to another and that will displace some ECNL players to other teams. This will begin in the Fall. There will also be similar changes in the GA teams. Some players need to be cut for sure. One girl hardly shows up for anything and they still play her in front of seasoned teamates. Shes not even good. |

McLean to GA. |
Heard the same! |
NOT |
On par with their mediocrity |
Hahahahha |
Maybe but at least they take control of their own future instead of depending on BRYC and VYS. |
Right. Maybe they are tired of dragging along the other two clubs. Move makes sense. |
This is not happening. They are one of the original ECNL teams. |
So what they're an original ECNL team, are they just going to stay ECNL forever even as they watch the landscape shift |
GA will be essentially their second team. |
you think they hired Harkes/Namazi for no reason those are bigger names than anyone else has in the area |
They have burned Virginia Union, and the last I heard, FVU was not going very well. It makes sense for them to move to GA and try something different. |
McLean parent here - I have heard the same - MLSN2/GA. Head scratcher to back away from ECNL, but my guess is that there's not enough VA Union revenue for all three partners? McLean surely has more overhead than Vienna and BRYC, and might be better off financially going it alone, even with lower-level top teams. Whatever the reason, it is a shame to see our club's demise, especially as we helped bring back BRYC and Vienna from the dead. Looks like there's going to be some migration from ECNL to GA locally, so there is some hope they can rebuild on the girls' side with GA. On the boys' side, hard to see McLean putting up any MLSN2 teams that could get promoted to MLSN1 any time soon. |
