Savannah

They bused in the crowd from Atlanta.

Sure they did dummy, just a four-and-a-half-hour drive away!

They did.

The local news reported widely on this.

Was it the lamestream media? Fake news! MAGA!

No it was the local news station. WJCL.

they interviewed people on the busses.

That defeats the purpose. I thought they were trying to get the Savannah voters

She's got the Savannah voters in my family.

Mine as well. And they are a retired military family.

Please be careful here. Savannah is a term used in the American south to categorize an African American’s skin tone- a lighter tone like Kamala. I am sure you didn’t mean it that way but what you said is triggering to African Americans from the south.

WTF are you talking about? I grew up in South Georgia and I have never heard this in my life.

Good for you Youngblood but show some respect. Savannah yellow and Savannah brown were terms used to described light skin sisters.

Kamala is young enough to be Trumps daughter

Since Melania is 54, Kamala is almost young enough to be Trump's wife.

If Trump said that, it would be mocked

If Trump ever admitted he was wrong about anything half the country would die of shock.

Not really. He's such a fire hose of obvious, demonstrable lies, there's no point.

He used IVF as a term instead of IUI because IVF is something most people have heard of whereas IUI isn't.
He attained a rank and served in that capacity for months, and then retired, at the rank below.

These are not "lies" and certainly not like any of Trump's thousands of obvious lies.

A little. Fox News and other radical outlets provide a warped view of reality. But I think even more of them just assert falsehoods confidently, hoping that they can kind of bully others into doubting themselves.

It’s crazy! I was reading this thread last night having ptsd from the debate and when I actually listened to the interview I felt it went fine. Both the interviewer and the candidates were in pretty standard form, imo. I don’t get the histrionics.

The MAGAs are realizing just how normal and relatable Walz and Harris are, and realize the crap sandwich they have to eat between now and November.

The MAGA’s in PA are very upset about the Biden/Harris administration banning

Kamala Harris says the first thing she will do on day 1 as president will be to strengthen the middle class.
Harris struggled with her first answer and gave a very long-winded response.

"I will tell you first and foremost one of my highest priorities is to do what we can to support and strengthen the middle class when I look at the aspirations, the goals, the ambitions of the American people, I think that people are ready for a new way forward in a way that generations of Americans have been fueled by hope and by optimism I think sadly, in the last decade we have had in the former president, someone who is really been pushing an agenda and in an environment that is about diminishing the character and the strength of who we are as Americans really dividing our nation. and I think people are ready to turn the page on that so what would you do day one, day one, it‘s gonna be about one implementing my plan for what I call an opportunity economy."

For my part, I'm probably tougher on media outlets because I think their insistence on interviews is entirely self-serving -- even as they frame it as "what the people want and democracy deserves" or high minded characterizations like that. The reality is that they want a product to sell. So, when the big moment comes and they have an opportunity to ask questions in service of democracy and the people ... we get variations on limp Republican attack lines, it makes me mad that they wasted everyone's time by making such a fuss.

When I said "he" I meant Trump is a fire hose of obvious, demonstrable lies. That's why I don't think anyone would bother mocking Trump for saying "sometimes my grammar is wrong." There is so much else to legitimately attack him for. My apologies for any confusion.

Someone took the CNN transcript and edited out the punctuation, Bash's intervening question, and Harris's specifics on a child tax credit.

BASH: "If you are elected, what would you do on day one in the White House?"

Harris: "Well, there are a number of things. I will tell you first and foremost one of my highest priorities is to do what we can to support and strengthen the middle class. When I look at the aspirations, the goals, the ambitions of the American people, I think that people are ready for a new way forward in a way that generations of Americans have been fueled by — by hope and by optimism.

I think sadly in the last decade, we have had in the former president someone who has really been pushing an agenda and an environment that is about diminishing the character and the strength of who we are as Americans — really dividing our nation. And I think people are ready to turn the page on that."

BASH: "So what would you do day one?"

HARRIS: "Day one, it’s gonna be about one, implementing my plan for what I call an opportunity economy. I’ve already laid out a number of proposals in that regard, which include what we’re gonna do to bring down the cost of everyday goods, what we’re gonna do to invest in America’s small businesses, what we’re gonna do to invest in families.

For example, extending the child tax credit to $6,000 for families for the first year of their child’s life to help them buy a car seat, to help them buy baby clothes, a crib. There’s the work that we’re gonna do that is about investing in the American family around affordable housing, a big issue in our country right now. So there are a number of things on day one."

This is a very clear answer that didn’t involve short, easily repeated catch phrases.
I’m embarrassed that this country isn’t capable of digesting this response.

The juxtaposition between the fury displayed by Dana Bash in the JD Vance interview and the kid-gloved interview from last night was just striking. There is a reason the media has hemorrhaged jobs since 2020 and it was on full display last night.

He had "Command Sargent Major" stamped on his Congressional challenge coin. That's stolen valor. He claimed to have "carried a weapon of war, in war". That's stolen valor, not bad grammar.

This country elected an unhinged narcissistic idiot and an elderly man 20 years past his prime in the most recent two elections. No one ever went broke underestimating the intelligence of the American people!

Command Sargent Major was his rank. You obviously have never served. Now Trump’s giant sh#t over at Arlington has really pissed off vets.
