They would say how he could have shot someone with the gun while high, and been aghast he left his gun where his children and nephews could find it. They would be calling him a pervert and trailer trash because he was sleeping with his sister in law. They probably would want the Trump sil prosecuted for illegally disposing of a gun in a grocery dumpster right by a school. They would say Trump’s connections helped Don jr illegally obtain a gun and that would need investigating. I really can’t see how they would want mercy for Don jr and complain about his prosecution.

Except in the real world HB is being prosecuted, whereas Don Jr isn't even being investigated for his coked-up videos while possessing firearms (which he posts evidence of possessing all the time on his social media).

After HB is found guilty I’m sure MAGA wants the DOJ and to go after others who committed the same crime. Amirite? And if this includes John Junior, well that’s just fair. Dot? Or are you saying we should have a two tiered justice system? Either you think Hunter should be prosecuted for these crimes as should anyone else who is proven gun owner and a drug addict or not. Whose to say, who’s an attic?

NP but yes we should go after Don Jr and anyone else who is breaking the law.

Absolutely. If there is reasonable cause to investigate Don Jr he should be next.

Dcum- start calling the NY prosecutors. Tell them you have evidence of Don jr being a crack addict. Tell them you watch his videos and you know he’s on drugs. Surely they will begin an investigation based on the opinion of random strangers. That’s how the legal system works.

Today just once again proves that no one is above the law. I was convinced it would be a hung jury; but clearly I was wrong and the jury sifted through the evidence thoughtfully.

Trump being a total scumbag rapist doesn't mean Hunter Biden shouldn't have been convicted.

No. Trump's case will be overturned. Those were charges that were created in order to "get Trump" and the whole trial was an example of improper prosecution. From the charges, to the judge's decisions during trial, to the charging of the jury.....

This case was a cut and dried case. The evidence of Hunter's guilt was overwhelming. The only hope the defense had was jury nullification.

This verdict is bad for the Trump campaign. I’ll bet they were secretly hoping for an acquittal.

Reminder that Hunter is also facing federal tax fraud charges in California in September. It's hard to imagine how he can avoid jail time given the two federal trials.

Agree.

Total liberal and I sort of feel sorry for him (loss of his mom/sister as a kid, followed by living in the shadow of the golden child) but he is pretty clearly getting what he deserves.

They'll try to spin it to their advantage somehow, and I can see Trump making nasty comments aimed at Joe about his son.

I don't feel sorry for Hunter, but I do feel sorry for the people who love him, especially his dad, to whom this will be a big blow given all his personal losses. I'm sure MAGA will revel in that pain.

I doubt he will get any prison time.
No priors. Non violent. President's son.

You could’ve stopped after nonviolent. I’ll add clean and sober for sometime now.

But MAGA Will threaten violence so I’m sure he’ll get maximum time.

Yeah, MAGA is going to threaten the judge so he does what they want. They won’t get arrested and prosecuted for communicating a terroristic threat. The judge and his team will huddle in a room, cowering in fear, and sentence Hunter to the max, because the callers threaten violence.

How are you able to live independently?

I’m sure he will. But you can almost hear the MAGA balloon deflating right now.

That settles it. I’m never voting for Hunter Biden.

+1 to both points

Surprised by the verdict. I expected nullification.

I'm confused. Are you saying that Don Jr. should be prosecuted for having guns while coked up or not?

Either way it's an interesting circular argument that you have presented. HB should be prosecuted for the same things that Don Jr does because Don Jr would be prosecuted while HB wouldn't even though HB is and Don Jr isn't.

No, I am saying that if it were Don jr instead of Hunter in the courtroom, dems wouldn’t be defending him or saying he shouldn’t be prosecuted. Dems would want him prosecuted. It would be a vastly different thread we are commenting on.

Did you ever stop to consider that it’s because Don Jr worked for his father directly and is a visible part of the Trump machine? Hunter has no part in the US government or Biden world.
