(If I may) make a few adjustments.
Tier 1: Bullis Prep SJC Tier 2: Landon Gonzaga PVI Tier 3: St. Albans DeMatha The Heights Tier 4: SSSAS Episcopal St. Andrews Potomac Tier 5: Good Counsel Bishop Ireton O'Connell IAC: Prep and Bullis have all the pressure to win and are very talented. Helps to have guys playing in their 5th varsity seasons on both of those teams. SSSAS graduated a massive and talented senior class, but still have some talent coming back. Landon is young and have some injuries to battle with already. St. Albans has some great top end talent but do they have the depth? WCAC: It’s still SJC as the clear top dog. Gonzaga and PVI will compete for 2nd, The Heights and Dematha will be 4th and 5th in some order. Can SJC go undefeated in league again? MAC: Potomac and St. Andrews are the only two teams worth mentioning, but can they upset any of the IAC/WCAC teams this year? Excited to see what the new coach at St. Andrews can do with that program. Potomac won last year t and returns a lot, so give them the nod? |
Landon is missing their leading point producer from last year, 2024 Kevin Miller. Unfortunately, he suffered a knee injury early this fall while playing soccer. Besides him, they don't have any other injuries to deal with. Overall, I thought Landon looked pretty sharp at both the NHSLS and the tournament at Bullis. I fully expect Bullis to bring home the gold again this Spring with Prep meeting them again in the Finals. STA should make things interesting this Spring but won't have the depth to go far once the weather heats up. |
Look for St Mary's and McDonogh to be the cream of the crop of the MIAA this Spring. McDonogh will be the favorite to repeat lead by Millon & Co. Boys Latin will remain very strong but losing Petro's son is a major hole to fill. Spalding takes a big step backward and Severn takes a big stride forward. Gilman and Loyola Blakefield, while competitive, don't live up to their program's lofty standards. St. Pauls will be the "dark horse" |
|
| Isn't one of the first matches of the spring season McDonogh vs Gonzaga? We think McDonogh by 3 or 4? |
| Let’s talk about the new 2023 rankings. I think they are solid rankings |
I'd love to see the DOBs next to these players, maybe not their actual birthday due to PII concerns. The Bullis player turned 19 this past September and has been in high school now for 6 years. I'm sure there are others on this list who are re-classes or even double re-class. Overall, I do think it's a very good list. |
| Just reading the Gtown prep transfer to McDonough was to old to play in the IAC is this true? |
I had heard it was for different reasons. But to leave GP for your senior season to attend Baltimore powerhouse McDonogh is odd. |
What rankings? |
| Inside lax |
| Ranking of players, not teams. Prep has 2 players on the list and so does SJC. |
Doesn't matter, Bullis is going to dominate this Spring. The Bulldogs and the Cadets have a game lined up in April - should be a treat for area lacrosse fans. |
Ty Xander is clueless |
I have heard that but not sure why. I guess one could argue that many of these players might not transition to be great college players but it is the coaches who have decided that. I think it would be hard to argue that these are not all great HS players. Even the kid in the MIAA. I will note that all of the local kids, and the number one player in B-More, are all re-classed kids. How do I know? Put it this way, my son is a 2022 year grad. They know |
