They can protest all they want, but blocking a road that is paid for by the taxpayers who would like to use it is going beyond protesting. They have no right to shut down public roads. End of story. |
I love the way the right once gain does the whataboutism fail.
they equate people blocking an urban highway for an hour on a weekend night in minneapolis with a week long truck seige protesting, I am not even sure what (given 90% of the truckers in canada are vaccinated) - this whole thing is clearly a globlly coordinated effort to impact supply chains and more importantly, democracy itself. And for some reason, the right cheers it on. |
I heard kyle rittenhouse is heading up there to protect property. |
Oh please. |
Even in Portland and other cities the protests where hyperlocal and only spanned a few blocks. Road blocked? No problem, hang a right, drive a few blocks, hang a left, and you've gone around it. And even then, the roads were typically only blocked for a few hours. These trucker protests are blocking major border crossings, are halting major highways, meaning in some cases a diversion of 20 or 50 miles, and it's already been going on for weeks. This needs to end. |
This is just another insurrection by another means. That’s all this is. The are wreaking economic terrorism by not getting back to work doing their jobs, instead spending all day blocking roads. |
Arrest them all. Put them in prison for a few years to think about what they did. The ones that don’t comply need to get shot. Examples have to be made. |
Maybe that makes more sense to you than it does to me or else I would respond to it. This is an international crossing though Americans and Canadians have been blessed by enough peace there to consider it no big deal. Maybe this is an end to the largest undefended border in the world. I can see reasons why in the future both countries may want to change that. Are the protesters really considering the livelihood of truckers. Truckers on both sides are stranded with cargo in their trucks. Don't deliver don't get paid. |
These aren't truckers, at least real, rank-and-file truckers who are doing this. They are domestic terrorists, probably staged by Flynn and others to undermine our democratic norms.
Stage an insurrection, force the government to "act strong" and the victims are now martyrs. Or, in the alternative, a strong authoritarian rises in place of the existing. Authoritarian playbook 101. |
My goodness. The conspiracy theories here are getting more and more bizarre. And, the measures you are expecting the government to take are those of a totalitarian government. And, you folks probably call yourselves liberals. |
What a lame attempt. Try harder next time. |
Do you also want to follow the millions going to the protestors? Do you care about them closing factories where “real” Canadians and Americans work? |
All the protesters want is for Treaudeau to end mandates . . . Just like all of Scandinavia has already done.
Also, if you have Canadian friends, you’ll know that these are Canadians of all stripes, not right wingers. They are simply done with all the unscientific restrictions. If Treaudeau lifted mandates (just like Scandinavia), the trucks would be gone a few hours later. Seems pretty simple. |
