S/O people who think tattoos are trashy (or not)

Anonymous
I'm curious to see what sorts of people find tattoos trashy (or not). So tell me, do you think tattoos are trashy? What's your background? MC? UMC? Education level? Current occupation/HHI?

Me first. I sometimes find tattoos trashy but generally like them if done well. Example: tweety bird on your boob = trashy. Artfully done half sleeve = not trashy.

I come from a MC background-both parents were professors (English and Sociology). I have a fine art background and have two masters degrees. Currently middle class (for around here) and live in PG county. You?

UMC background. 50s. As a kid a tattoo meant military (enlisted or NCO), biker or rock star.

I don't care. Tattoo yourself until you're blue in the face. Treat others with respect.

The only tattoos I have a problem with are the tribal tattoos, but that's because a Maori I met explained how they are earned and applied. That takes a lot! No sterile tattoo needle guns for them.

I suppose I would object to other tribal tattoos too. Simply because of the lack of respect and genuineness.

Whether a tacky is trashy or not depends on how good looking you are.

Tattoos = yuck. Tattoos = mutilizing your own body and not respecting what God created as a gift for you.

Master's degree. Father was an attorney and mother a kindergarten teacher. Upper middle class. Conservative Republicans. Grew up in and still live in Fairfax County. Went away for college and grad school abroad.

UMC background/upbringing

I am never ever getting a tattoo, but I don't care if others do and don't see them generally as "trashy." I find it eyeroll worthy that others do.

i have a JD. i never remark negatively about other people's appearances. iN my own mind, I do question the judgement of those with larger tattoos at least, since people inevitably gain weight, and skin softens and stretches over time, and the tattoos end up being unsightly by an individual's 40s or 50s. sOmetimes earlier on women.

I'm one step up from blue collar - I have an associates degree. Receptionist.

Some of them are pretty and some are really interesting or funny but I still think they're ... stupid. I wouldn't say trashy exactly.
