No it will not work. Good players will not do biobanding. Biobanding is only for players who cannot get a minute but desperately want to stay in the top team. If I have to bioband to play down to be ashamed, why not just go to the 2nd team and also play HS soccer?

I guess the coaches have no say on who's on their teams?

Yes, biobanded kids aren't playing a lot in their calendar age group because of the reasons they qualify to be biobanded. Duh

Maybe you should lookup all the international professional players who were biobanded and ask why anyone should be ashamed to be a biological late developer outside their control.

The difference is that those players are in the real academy with pro potential. Yours is just a mediocre player stuck in a p2p club, forced to play down year after year to stay in the first team.

Aren't all MLS Next teams 1st teams?

So a U15 playing U14 biobanded in MLS Next is playing for two 1st teams

Agree. As a dad of a Q4 kid I believe it will be better for my kid's development and exposure ECNL rather than MLSN2.

No. Mlsn2 is made up of first teams at some clubs and second teams of mlsn1 clubs.

Most often in MLS 1 the biobanded kids play central midfield or outside back (the positions where height matters a bit less) and if they didn't play down an age group, they would be stuck playing behind other biobands in their true age group in their same position. It's a trickle down effect. The 2010 CMs are all 2009, the 2011 CMs are all 2010, etc. In 3 years of MLS 1, I've never once seen a bioband "giraffe" by the way. You could look at my son's team and I can guarantee you'd never guess who the biobands are.

Possibly it would be big money trying to buy them up and package them together.

You can do biobanding to play in the MLS1 younger group, so same as ECNL SY.

Not necessarily! You have to be a late developer to play in the younger group.

If you don't "believe" the guy, then what exposure is his player getting in MLSN2 that is so great? They added so many clubs in that league this past year - 1/3 of them were not even playing in a regional league before - basically a punch of state premier and NAL clubs. without that MSLN badge on the sleeve you would laugh at any poster on here claiming their kid was getting exposure at state premier or NAL. So, if your saying that badge is worth that much, then explain why? I'm not seeing it - not at the MLSN2 level; especially with a split BY and SY for next season making MLSN2 a dead end for promotion.

People like you are saying your kid is a dead end to be promoted to playing at a higher level
But using league, club, team, popcorn vendor as scapegoat

How are ECNL coaches, coaching and development of players better than MLSN2?

How is the level of competition in ECNL better than MLSN2?

Mls2 isn’t part of mlsnext? This keeps getting better and better for that division.

No biobanding police in MLS. As long as you are short, then you can play down. There is no doctor or sth to check. They only measure your height.
