No it will not work. Good players will not do biobanding. Biobanding is only for players who cannot get a minute but desperately want to stay in the top team. If I have to bioband to play down to be ashamed, why not just go to the 2nd team and also play HS soccer? [/quote]

Yes, biobanded kids aren't playing a lot in their calendar age group because of the reasons they qualify to be biobanded. Duh

Maybe you should lookup all the international professional players who were biobanded and ask why anyone should be ashamed to be a biological late developer outside their control.

The difference is that those players are in the real academy with pro potential. Yours is just a mediocre player stuck in a p2p club, forced to play down year after year to stay in the first team.

Most often in MLS 1 the biobanded kids play central midfield or outside back (the positions where height matters a bit less) and if they didn't play down an age group, they would be stuck playing behind other biobands in their true age group in their same position. It's a trickle down effect. The 2010 CMs are all 2009, the 2011 CMs are all 2010, etc. In 3 years of MLS 1, I've never once seen a bioband "giraffe" by the way. You could look at my son's team and I can guarantee you'd never guess who the biobands are.[/quote]
