Baltimore police officer found not guilty in 2nd degree depraved heart murder.
Appropriate verdict, IMO. |
|
Wow, so two not guilty verdicts so far. Did the prosecutors overreach?
This does not look good at all for their office, IMO |
Of course they did. My fear is it won’t matter to the idiots who will use this as an excuse to riot. Marilyn Mosby isn’t looking like much of a superstar right now. |
| Agreed that it's a good decision and overreach by the prosecutor. |
Maybe the DA bit off more than she could chew. I'm not sure how they thought those charges would stick This story is so sad. A man was murdered but as far as our justice system is concerned, that doesn't seem to matter.
|
See.... he wasn’t “murdered.” He died while in custody. And, according to the other person in custody, it could well have been his own doing. Sorry, but that is what these trials are showing. |
| So, will the State drop the remaining charges against these officers, or will Mosby continue with these ridiculous trials only to lose them all? |
| What a waste of my tax dollars to appease a protective class. The law is color blind and as a society we need to move on. |
|
It's a good verdict. It is also appropriate the Gray family got a payout.
Cops did not kill Freddy, Baltimore did. They poisoned him as a child in lead filled housing. They have police practices that are not working and dangerous. The cops were only following long standing policies and procedures. |
| how are the streets like so far? |
| Having a judge decide their fate has, so far, turned out to be a good thing. Judges should be less emotional and more driven by the facts than juries who might use that emotion and personal feelings to ignore the facts and law. |
| Couldn't care less ready to move on. |
I'm waiting for Mosby to bring charges against the police van. |
Not at all. Even a "not guilty" verdict is justice served and much better than sweeping it under the rug like has been done in the past. |
| Now get that $6.4 million back from the Gray family. |
