Men: Would you date a woman who did not have a "real job"?

Men would you date a woman who was:

- a waitress
- a retail sales associate
- a nanny

and other such jobs. Why or why not?

All of those are real jobs that she could support herself on.
What's the issue?

If you think men have a problem with a woman having the jobs you described, then you REALLY don't understand men.

Why do women care about this then? Why would an average woman NOT date or marry a waiter or a bartender?

Woman here. I agree. For the most part men are looking for a friendly, nice and pretty woman who will laugh at their jokes and have sex. That's really all it takes.

Because we have children and there's an innate desire to provide for them, which biologically is harder for us to do with childbirth and pregnancy. Duh

What school did she attend? Does she wear the right shoes and look put together?

Yes this maybe a blimp on her resume. It is a big one though...

Depends how hot she is. I'd have sex with her, but I'd never seriously "date" her nor ever think about moving in with her or marrying her.

This is why you're single.

I was a nanny for the first seven years of our marriage, now a SAHM. DH earns high six figures. It works for us! Honestly I don't think men care that much if you're attractive and really good at keeping the home/kids under control.

A blimp?

What's wrong with being a nanny? I am a nanny and I snagged an attorney. I'm two years away from getting my PharmD, so maybe that makes a difference?
