Why are Lifetime movies so terrible these days?

The movies they show from the 90s originally aired on the big 3 networks. NBC, ABC and CBS used to have Sunday/Monday original TV movies of the week. Lifetime original movies were never any good. |

Both my Jewish mother-in-law and my priest uncle have DVRs full of these movies. |

Yeah. I could spend all day watching them. Mother May I Sleep with Danger was a personal favorite. I also liked the Val Bertinelli one where the Twin Peaks guy killed Val's sister on their honeymoon. |
