The opera singer or the string quartet?!

The cast. The cast was singing.

In Bridgerton?? When was the cast singing?

Within the first few minutes of the first episode. They were doing something with the chicks corset then they were all on stairs and then someone was singing.

Oh well, your loss. I’m excited for Anthony. I think his scenes were hot, too. Not the duke but who is?!?

I have no idea what you’re talking about.

If you didn’t watch the show then of course you wouldn’t.

Anyway, they found their Kate!

No… It was mostly the odd segue. A paragraph break would have made more sense.

I have just found out that this series is from Julia Quinn books. I haven’t watched it but my kindle suggested the first book to me and when I clicked in it, it didn’t show that ai already own it.

Also, when I opened my version into the kindle store, it shows as “not available.”

Does anyone know what if the books were changed as well?

Watched two episodes last night and won’t be tuning in to more. It’s definitely like Gossip Girl as OP mentioned crossed with that cheesy Drew Barrymore movie Ever After. Maybe just too YA for my tastes.

I found the first two episodes really boring as well! The 3rd was much better and then I couldn’t stop watching.

I guess I shouldn't be that surprised that women like soft-corn porn with a flimsy plot line filled with unrealistic romance, but I kind of am. As a 44 year old married woman, that Jane Austen shit does NOT resonate with me.
+1 and the Duke was much better strutting around and being the Duke then acting like a pained puppy doing fake porn “love” scenes. He’s dashing throughout most of the series then turns into a dud.

With a dud partner. I was not a fan of the female lead at all.

I can’t understand your question.

The first book is The Duke and I. There are eight books, one featuring each Bridgerton sibling. The Duke is really only in book one, other than quick references at family get togethers.

ARGH! He'd only have to do one event ...that's whats in the book. I've never seen a breakout star like this.

But he's vital to the hot . . . er, plot. To the plot.

He must be off to bigger and better things.

I think this could bite him in the butt. Totally turning your back on the thing that made people love you can turn off fans

I was thinking the same thing. Do we assume this was his decision and not the show’s decision?

Article says he’s going to be filming Netflix James Bond-type show. Still, Netflix should have worked some clause in to his contract to film Bridgerton Season 2 in some capacity. Netflix knows he’s the reason people watched that series. I’m really surprised by Netflix.
