I thought turning off the sound was so brilliant. You could see how distraught they all were compared to the other random people who gave their accounts. |
| I was one of the PPs who said that I hoped it didn't turn out that Perry was Jane's rapist because it was too much of an unbelievable twist, but I ended up not minding the ending. I really enjoyed the episode. I read that Reese Witherspoon and Laura Dern said there could be a second season. I would definitely watch. |
| I really was not a big fan of Bonnie, I felt she had hidden motives and was calculated and boy was I wrong. Plus there is more to her that is explained in the book that they apparently left out of the show. Google it if you want to find out Bonnie's background and why she had that reaction. Because in the book she tells Perry to F Off as she pushes him. MY HERO! |

Did anyone notice Nicole Kidman's Australian accent creeping in during the argument in the car?
It didn't bother me, she was so excellent all the way through. The scene where they're walking out of the house after Perry returned her phone was so chilling. I also like the way they showed the abuse in flashbacks. In the book, Celeste is a distracted and forgetful person and the reasons were portrayed well here. |
It looked to me like he had been impaled (through his throat) with a metal bar. Maybe some rebar because they were doing construction on those stairs (the same steps that Madeline kept snatching the caution tape off and walking up in previous episodes). The detectives mentioned that he had multiple injuries, so it wasn't just the fall that killed him. |
Yes, I noticed that too, and it was somewhat distracting in the moment, but like you said, she was so excellent overall. I couldn't figure out if Bonnie stabbed Perry with something or if he landed on something, and in either case, what was it? Wasn't there something sticking out of his throat? I think the clicking and binoculars at the end mean that the female detective is still on the case. I do love how they all came together at the end. I really liked Renata at the end! |
| Why didn't they keep the part where "Larry" donates to Abby to shut down her auction?!? SO GOOD! |
| Loved the final beach scene. |
re the blood, I thought so too - maybe a piece of steel from the concrete stairs repair work. Didn't this stairway appear a few episodes ago when Madeline ignored the yellow tape to go up the steps when going to the Avenue Q rehearsals. |
I agree- wish this would have been included. I thought the show was really good! |
The show worked well because it gave Madeline a little win that Abigail came around and did as her mom asked. And it brought them closer. It was a nice touch. |
They were really emphasizing their mouths making a hard "f" in "fell." That was one word a viewer could tell they all agreed on. I thought it was incredibly well done. And good point PP about how not having sound makes the viewer pay more attention to how distraught they all looked. |
I will have to go back and watch that part again, I was too distraught wondering if my audio had gone out to pay close enough attention. |
Ha, I was watching with close captions on because everyone was asleep at home. I turned the volume low and CC on.

I started to do this for the therapy scenes to make sure I'd catch every haunted whisper from Celeste/Nicole. |
