Duggar son allegedly molested girls including sisters

2. I wonder how much more common this kind of thing is in very, very large families? The bond between parent-child and child-sibling in such a dynamic must be different than it would be in a smaller family...

1. The Duggar children do not have a TV, and their internet access is extremely limited. They may not even know about this, the younger kids.

2. Forcibly fondling preschoolers isn't common anywhere. Similar aged sisters, maybe. Baby sisters? No.

Why do some of you feel so bad for this family? Jim Bob and Michelle violated their children. They violated the victims of this mess by not providing them with any support and by not protecting them from their abuser. They violated josh by sending him to some bogus labor camp instead of getting him the help he desperately needed. They violated their other children by not reporting these incidents to the proper authorities and protecting all of them.

Meanwhile, they've been parading themselves on television and further exploiting their children. They are on your tv screen acting like this wholesome, Jesus loving family that we should all aspire to be. Also in the background, they are actively working to discriminate against others - particularly LGBT individuals, whom the Duggars describe as sexual deviants endangering children everywhere.

What has this family done that is so admirable? I believe I'm paraphrasing Jesus here - it's not enough to talk the talk, you gotta walk the walk and do good onto others.

It became a "mistake" when these fundamentalist types (be they Christian, Muslim, Jewish, whatever) put the blame on women for tempting men, not wearing modest clothing, and not behaving properly, making then boys and men totally unable to be personally responsible for their behavior.

You realize the victims are also Duggars, right? Everyone is acting like they got what they deserved because their parents were fame whores.

Real question here - what happens judicially or criminally to a minor when accused of molestation against other minors?

So if this all happened within statute of limitations and a child reported this or a parent became aware, what happens?

Most likely some form of juvenile detention program.

Juvenile sex abuse and assault is still sex abuse and assault, and are still serious crimes punishable through juvenile court systems.

Repeat that when a 15 year old rapes your kid.

A 15 year old knows to not touch his sisters genitals. This was not a mistake, he didnt fall into her gentials.

You think a teenager repeatedly fondling his sisters vaginas and breasts while they're asleep is "kids make mistakes?"

Are you for real?

Perhaps he was disgusted that his twin sister had been molested and then left unprotected by his parents? John David has always seemed like a decent guy, veering away from the family line.

I can see this. Didn't he move out shortly after he turned 18? Which is off the Duggar script.

I wonder if the parents/adults that knew about it & don't report it can be held criminally responsible. The statue of limitations, somewhere mentioned as three years, I wonder if that would apply to adults.

I suppose the cop they talked to about it would have had a legal responsibility to report, but he probably got off on the stories of what happened since he was into child porn.
