Kate Middleton in Hospital - Recovering from Surgery

I was thinking the same! While they are at it, remove a mole from her tummy, and voila!--"abdominal surgery".

If it had been Gyn, she’d have gone to St Mary’s or the Portman.

Wow, DCUM folks really sleuthed this out. Never disappoint, DCUM.

So yeah, very likely some sort of digestive or colon issues: Crohn's, UC, or a bowel perforation.

My best friend had a bowel perforation while working overseas as an expat. It took forever to get properly diagnosed (months) and when they finally figured out that it was a perforation, he was in the hospital for about 2 weeks to recover after the surgery. You're on a ton of antibiotics and need round the clock observation.

Wrong - this hospital does treat fibroids and endometriosis so could have been in the gyno department.

No one is staying in the hospital for 2 weeks and then recovering for 3 months from fibroid surgery.

How long do you recovery with a full hysterectomy?

I previously guessed istesitnal damage from ibs or celiac but my other guess is impacted fecal matter leading to intestinal rupture — that is quite nasty and has a long recovery. And would make for an unpleasant press release.

Wouldn't that have been an emergency?

If there was a world cup of speculation, DCUM team would bring some sort of honorary medal for sure.

He’s next in line for the throne, so you’d think it would have been a good opportunity for him to act as official/unofficial leader of the firm while his father is out. They have a full staff that can handle everything at home, so it would probably be good to have at least one senior Royal out doing royal things.

I guess either Kate’s situation is way worse than we know, or William just took it as an excuse to do less.

Staff are not the same as parents . Especially if the kids are upset about their mom’s absence.

This is 2024. Let’s hope that modern royals are actually close to their young children.

The kids are all in school, so he could still be hands-on in their eyes while not having to worry about household chores. He could very easily drop them off, heli to London, check on Kate, then do a quick charity appearance (they usually last 30 mins) before heli back to pick up the kids from school and be with them the rest of the day. Single parents do more and are still there for their kids.

The royal family’s approval rating has been slipping since the Queen died, and many have already called out William for his lack of commitment to the job. It could have been an opportunity to change the narrative.

I'm guessing plastic surgery. Even if she is slim, her stomach could be stretched out and the muscles herniated from repeated pregnancies. So tummy tuck, which does take a long time to recover from.

this is not it. Her clothes look fine on her. The RF eschews plastic surgery.

In fact, it wouldn't surprise me at all if it had nothing to do with abdominal surgery and they are just staying that to bury whatever it really is. These people spin everything to make themselves come across as perfect as possible. Telling the public that it's abdominal surgery is broad enough to encompass a variety of possibilities and they don't have to be any more specific. It's also something that the public won't be able to visibly confirm (yes, even ostomy bags can be discreet).

My money is on some type of in-patient treatment for an ED or mental health issues. And before the PP comes at me with the list of specialties at this hospital--do you really think the BRF is going to let Kate check into a hospital that is known for treating EDs or mental health issues? Of course not. They'd send her somewhere else to throw people off and tie into whatever spin they are giving the public.

Yes, this. Abdominal surgery could be anything and is a good excuse for a long hospital stay. Whatever it is, I hope she gets well soon. I’d hate to see her kids lose their mom so young like their father did.

That's absurd. Abdominal surgery is abdominal surgery.

This may surprise you, but you have LOTS of organs in your abdomen. Even more if you’re a female born female. Abdominal surgery could mean a lot. A lot more than say, heart or brain surgery.

Hope this helps!!!!!

My .02 cents on page 38. Crohn’s or IBS with an intestinal surgery re-section. In order for intestines to heal, a temporary colostomy bag is needed. My friend had this surgery and she recovered primarily in her home during this period.

In other words, a woman.

Asked a family member who’s a surgeon. Their guess was diverticulitis, particularly if she was also hospitalized several weeks ago in December like the Twitter video suggested.

My clothes looked fine on me before my tummy tuck.
