Because laws might apply to a Republican for once?

Power corrupts. Democrats and Republicans alike. There's plenty of corruption and slime on both sides. If we want to maintain our Republic in its current form, both sides have to learn to live with each other. The whole has to be more than the sum of the parts.

Lincoln's famous quote was paraphrased from the Bible: "Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand." It's not about a winner and a loser at this point. We either learn to live with each other culturally, socially, and politically or the country fails and much misery for everybody is likely to ensue. A tale as old as time.

What’s the big deal about waiting for a subpoena?
He put a padlock on the door with all the top secret documents!
Sure the government asked for the papers back, but that was just the start of the negotiations!

It is what the GOP wants. A divided US benefits Russia, China, Iran, etc.

One side wants to end the republic and believes in selected application of law.

The rest of us are independents and democrats.

Subpoenas are for civil cases. They don’t generally use subpoenas for criminal cases for chain of custody reasons, among others. Plus, also why would they need a subpoena for him to voluntarily turn stuff over? If he was willing to give it all back, a warrant would not have been necessary.

The whole thing is particularly ridiculous given that the only thing that it appears they “seized” was documents that belong to the government that he had no legal right to have in his residence.

The people up in arms over this LEGAL part of a government's activities should be ashamed of themselves.

Republicans don't actually care about police at all. They just like it when unarmed black people are killed.

But my. God.

How can the slightly more sane of you republicans look at yourselves and say - yup - when the FBI was investigating Hillary’s email, that was correct to do and in fact we are sure she should be locked up for her ‘crimes’.

But a few years later, AFTER 4 YEARS OF A TRUMP PRESIDENCY AND TRUMP APPOINTING THE HEAD OF FBI WHO CONTINUES TO THIS DAY, the FBI is now a corrupt wing of the Democratic Party?

Get ahold of yourselves

Oh, FFS. Did the FBI do a pre-dawn raid to search for those emails that Hillary wiped from her server? For that matter, did they do a pre-dawn, long guns drawn raid to even find the server?
Yes - there are still way too many agents at the FBI who are corrupt to the core. Wray has done nothing to rein in the rogue agents.
This raid was so unwarranted and will come back to bite the Dems in the butt. Mark my words.

It wasn’t pre-dawn. It was at 10 am. And it doesn’t matter because he wasn’t home.

And, NOW you’re afraid of AR-15s? When they’re carried by trained professionals sworn to defend the Constitution? I can’t anymore with you people.

Exactly. He wasn't home. So, why the need for a raid? Why a search warrant when a subpoena would suffice?

It's all for the optics. This WH loves their optics.

A subpoena would not have sufficed. If you don't know what you are talking about, there is no pressing need for you to weigh in.

Exactly. How else would they make sure the evidence was still there? Let’s just announce in advance what they want and give the crooks a roadmap to obstruct and destroy evidence.

+1 And NARA had been trying to get this stuff back for months and they still didn’t have it.

Conservatives feel betrayed because Their motto is there are in-groups where the law protects but does not bind and out-groups where the law binds but does not protect. Conservatives have always been part of the in/group. So it's blowing their mind that the law is actually coming for one of those whom the law has protected but not bound.

Republicans support the Racist Police State police who know their job is to target Blacks and Hispanics. They don’t support the Woke Police who think laws also apply to White Republicans.

Wooah. Always shocking when you see analysis this correct on DCUM. But here it is. this is it. This is the whole damn story.

Rep. Scott Perry of Pennsylvania? He introduced Trump to Jeffrey Clark and is intimately involved in at least the January 6-related investigation of DOJ and probably the fake electors section of it, too. If you’re implying that he sent out a dumb tweet about the Attorney General and immediately the feds grabbed the phone of a sitting Congressman as a result without proper procedures that would have taken weeks if not months, you can show yourself out.

Not a tweet. Filed articles of impeachment against the head of the DOJ, who then turned the FBI on him. I'm sure proper procedures were followed, just like with the FISAs.

My favorite like today was the press secretary stating "Biden found out about the raid at the same time the American people did". Where have we heard that before? Hmm

Again, please leave. There is no possible way you could get a search warrant written, sworn to, filed and approved and that short an amount of time.

Fascists, all

Wooah, wooah wooah moron. So your position is that there was no search warrant at all? That a bunch of rogue FBI agents just took it upon themselves to do this.

You are beyond being helped.

I think he's saying a corrupt head of the FBI drew up a warrant to be signed by a corrupt judge. Just like they did with the FISAs
